    • Coupling arrangement for a regulator-valve combination for use in gas pressurization systems. One of the major problems associated with high pressure gas storage cylinders has been the necessity for rigidly mounting the cylinder to prevent it from falling. The present system provides a novel regulator-valve arrangement which protects the gas cylinder and at the same time allows a quick change-over when the cylinder must be replaced. The regulator (10) includes an adjustably biased diaphragm (114) which operates a control valve (144) which regulates the flow of gas from a gas storage cylinder to the beverage dispenser. The adjustment of the biasing force on the diaphragm determines the outlet pressure in the system. A pivotable yoke (24) which is part of the coupling apparatus is placed in a raise position so that the cylinder shut-off valve (12) can be properly aligned with the regulator boss and lowered to a retaining position where a retaining screw (31) can be turned inwardly to move the cylinder valve into rigid coupling position with the regulator. Upon coupling, a poppet (84) within the cylinder valve is opened automatically to allow gas to flow into the regulator. This arrangement permits a short lateral sliding movement for installation of a gas storage cylinder (14) which allows a novice to change the cylinder safely and quickly in a confined space. In another embodiment a diaphragm actuator (226) directly contacts the slidable poppet (214) within the cylinder shut-off valve (202) to provide the gas flow controlling function in response to movement of the diaphragm. A high pressure gas storage cylinder fill adapter (280) is also provided which has a pivotable yoke (282) and probe (296) for secure attachment to the cylinder valve during the pressure refilling of the cylinder. In order to provide additional protection for the high pressure gas storage cylinder, the pressure regulator (10) is mounted on a vertical surface or cabinet wall (22) at sufficient height to allow the gas cylinder to be supported by the regulator when connected to the system. The regulator can be attached to the vertical surface by means of a bracket (18) and releasable fasteners (16) so that the regulator can be quickly removed, if desired.
