摘要： A film (50) processing apparatus (20) including a film stretching device (22) and a take-away device (24). The take-away device receives the film after the stretching device and transports the film along a conveying region in a direction of transport (X). The take-away device includes opposing, first and second conveyor assemblies. The first conveyor assembly has a continuous belt driving a plurality of discrete pads (180a, 180b). Each pad forms a contact face (194a, 194b) extending between leading (200b) and trailing edges (202a). The pads are configured and arranged such that the trailing edge (202a) of a first pad (180a) overlaps the leading edge (200b) of an immediately adjacent second pad (180b) as the first and second pads traverse the conveying region. The overlap is characterised by a line (322) perpendicular to the direction of transport passing at any given moment through the first and second pads. A shape of the contact face can define a major central axis that is non-perpendicular and non-parallel with the direction of transport. The invention also relates to a method of processing a film using such an apparatus.

摘要： A composite barrier film has a base layer of polyester or polyolefin with a barrier layer of modified polyvinyl amine (mPVA). The mPVA is polyvinyl alcohol/polyvinyl amine copolymer crosslinked with citric acid and an optional additional crosslinking agent such as epichlorohydrin. The barrier layer can be applied by depositing a reactive aqueous solution onto the base layer, heating and drying to remove water and crosslink the reactants. Excellent barrier properties of the film are obtained by applying and crosslinking the barrier layer during the transverse stretching steps for continuously fabricating a biaxial oriented polymer film. Superior barrier properties are achieved with transverse stretching by a factor in the range of about 3-10 and depending upon whether the base layer is polyester or polyolefin.

The film can exhibit a shrinkage that is at least about 50% of the total shrink within a temperature range T1 above the onset temperature of the film. 摘要： A molded article of a crystalline thermoplastic resin with high gas barrier properties, produced while optimizing the crystal orientation of the resin to give a product with a specified monoaxial monoplanar orientation, thus remarkably improving the gas barrier properties. The gas barrier properties can be drastically improved by optimizing the crystallinity and crystal orientation of the molded article by specifying the conditions of molding and heat treatment for crystallization and utilizing a synergistic effect of the crystallinity and the crystal orientation. The molded article is used as the packaging or protective material of meat, processed animal and fish meat including ham and sausage, processed marine products including 'kamaboko', retortable pouch, foods which must be shielded from moisture or oxygen, such as fish powder seasoning, powdery soup and rice cracker, curry powder, spice, vegetable, fruit, medicine and so forth.
