摘要： The present invention provides a drill press lathe attachment designed for rotating a workpiece along a horizontal axis to remove material from the workpiece to form it into a desired shape. The drill press lathe attachment comprises a base and a power transfer box along with components commonly found on a lathe, but without a motor. The drill press lathe attachment, or "motorless" lathe, may be mounted directly to the bed of an existing drill press thereby providing an alternative means of achieving turning operations without needing a traditional motor driven lathe.

摘要： A lathe for turning a workpiece by means of a headstock and a tailstock includes a lathe bed having an elongate main support structure and bedrails extending along a side of the structure, these rails adjustably supporting the tailstock. Leg supports are provided at opposite ends of the support structure and two pivot connectors each join a respective one of the bed ends to a support leg. The bed can be pivoted about a horizontal axis extending through these pivot connectors between an upright position which can be used when the lathe user is standing and a sideways position which can be used when the user is sitting. In the upright position, the bedrails are on top of the main support structure.

摘要： A stand is made up of two channel shaped sides (29, 42). There is a removable top (1) that has holes drilled (2) in it so a router (39) with router bits (41) of different diameters and shapes, such as round-nosed and straight router bits or heads, can be attached. There is a removable wood guide having a front with two wood guide sides (18, 23) attached to it. The electric router is the power source for the cutter. The round nose bit cuts the wood ends to form tenons of different diameters and shapes, such as radius, chamfered (tapered) or square-shouldered tenons. The top will be a flat surface with holes that will support a router and attach to the sides. The two channel shaped sides (29, 42) will include holes for attaching a top (1), securing it to a work bench, and attaching wood guides (20). The fronts will have different diameter holes, and will attach to wood guide sides. The wood guide sides will have a slot (26) where a bolt (46, 47) can pass through to attach wood guides to channel sides.

摘要： This invention relates to a remote constant surface speed control mechanism for a lathe wherein variations in surface speed of a workpiece are controlled by electronic/electrical means readily accessible to an operator during cutting operations. Referring to the figure there is illustrated the use of a plastic or diecast handgrip (14) which is fitted over a cutting chisel handle (15). Handgrip (24) houses a UHF (2 channel) transmitter with control buttons (16 and 17) for fast and slow operation of the headstock spindle. This control handgrip can be operated by the wood turner whilst cutting the workpiece (18) secured to the headstock with chisel (19) supported on tool rest (20).
