    • A scraper (9) for removing deposits from the exterior of a tubular member (34) includes elements defining an outer jacket (10) which has an inwardly open circumferential recess and two aligned axial openings, and a scraper element (12) in the form of an elongate resilient wire bent to define a series of integral, concatenated, resilient segments (26), each pair of adjacent segments being connected through a bend or geniculation (28). All geniculations (28) are received within the recess, and each segment (26a) of wire extends generally along a chord of the aligned axial openings. The positions of the chords are distributed around the circumference of the axial openings such that, in order for the tubular member (34) to be accommodated through the aligned openings, the various segments (26a) must be deformed outwardly, whereby the resilience of the thus deformed segment urges it inwardly against the tubular member (34), and causes it to clean the tubular member (34) as the scraper (9) moves axially.

Diese Aufgabe wird durch ein Verfahren gelöst, bei dem das Walzgut (6) in einem Induktionsofen (7) erwärmt und anschließend entzundert wird, bevor das Walzgut (14) in einem Walzgerüst oder einer Walzstaffel (16) gewalzt wird, wobei das erwärmte Walzgut (10) durch wenigstens einen rotierenden Wasserstrahl aus einer Rotations-Entzunderungseinrichtung (13) entzundert wird; anschließend wenigstens jeweils eine Temperatur des entzunderten Walzguts (14) mittels einer Temperaturmesseinrichtung (15) erfasst und einem Regler (18) zugeführt wird; und der Regler (18) unter Zuhilfenahme eines Regelgesetzes und unter Berücksichtigung einer Soll-Temperatur wenigstens eine Stellgröße (21) ermittelt und einem Regelorgan zuführt, wobei wenigstens ein Induktor des Induktionsofens (7) so angesteuert wird, dass die Temperatur des entzunderten Walguts (14) der Soll-Temperatur möglichst entspricht.

    • Continuous extrusion means in which aluminium or copper feedstock with a nominal diameter approximately 4% greater than the width of the circumferentially extending groove in a continuous extrusion wheel is fed from a feed reel to a centreless lathe or shaving machine set to machine the feedstock to a diameter corresponding to the width of the groove. In thereby removing the surface layer, surface impurities are removed and feedstock with a clean, non-oxidised surface is delivered directly to the groove without the intervention of feed rollers liable to cause distortions in the feedstock whilst ensuring that substantially constant forces arise between the machined-to-size feedstock and the walls of the groove. This reduces any tendency of irregular feed toward the associated abutment and thus enhances the constancy of the product quality as well as avoiding problems arising from oxidation and/or surface imperfections.

    • The invention concerns the cleaning of objects such as endless bodies with a view to removing adherent salts by rinsing with a rinsing fluid containing at least one solvent, the salts and the solvent being recovered.
