Said hydrostatic support element can be hydraulically displaced against the internal circumference (2) of the hollow cylinder (1) and on the outside has a system of hydrostatic storage pockets (60) which are open to the internal circumference (2) of the hollow cylinder (1). The storage pocket system (60) of the lateral support element (30) can be subjected to a time-constant quantity of hydraulic fluid in a choke-free manner. The invention further provides for a mechanical stop end (55, 42) for the lateral support element (30) so as to delimit lateral extension movements.
