The auto-injector comprises a cassette unit arranged for receipt of a syringe provided with a needle cover and removable cap. The auto-injector also comprises a drive unit arranged for docking receipt of the cassette unit at a docking position and a drive arrangement. The drive unit is provided with a timer that starts a time count on removal of the removable cap and needle cover from the cassette unit.

摘要： Drug delivery system comprising a main portion with a cap as well as a needle assembly with a needle mounted in a hub and a needle cap releasably mountable on the hub to cover the needle. The cap comprises gripping means reversibly operatable between a first condition in which there is no gripping engagement between the mounted cap portion and the needle cap, this allowing the cap portion to be removed from the main portion without removing the needle cap from the hub, and a second condition in which the cap portion grippingly can engage the needle cap of a needle assembly, this allowing the needle cap to be removed from the hub together with the cap. The cap further comprises user actuation means for operating the gripping means between the two conditions.

摘要： The multipurpose safety device to prevent needle stick injury and to prevent injuries while cutting an ampoule or opening a vial seal consists substantially of a flat strip with slots at one end, which is opposite the grip end. The slot near the end is open at the edge partially and the design of this slot substantially corresponds to the outer design of a needle cover that needs to be parked or accommodates the needle cover effectively. Another slot corresponds to the outer design of the needle hub to help disengage a tight fitting needle from the syringe. There is a third slot, which has a file at one end and or side to score a glass ampoule. The edges of the flat strip are raised to create a guard rail and the surface is optionally grooved. The other end, also called the grip end, is beveled to help open the metal seal of a rubber cap of a bottle or vial. This end may be optionally angulated or curved.

The apparatus can be fastened with an overcenter clamp (26) to a patient's bed rail or other convenient location within a hospital.
