More specifically, the invention relates to a water saving device for retrofitting to existing wet or semi-wet suction systems, also known as liquid-ring type vacuum pumping systems. The water saving device includes a plurality of ducts (12,20,24,34) for connecting the suction system (200), in a particular configuration, to at least a water tank (14), a heat exchanger (16), a circulation pump (18) and one or more separators (26), which configuration enables recirculation of water that would otherwise be drained in typical suction system installations. By recirculating the water, instead of draining, substantial water savings and consequentially substantial financial savings can be obtained.

摘要： A urine collection catheter is provided. The catheter includes: a conduit having an open distal end; a drainage tube positioned at least partially within the conduit; and a bladder superior wall support. The drainage tube includes one or more fluid ports or perforations for permitting fluid flow into a drainage lumen defined by the drainage tube. The bladder superior wall support includes a support cap and a plurality of support members extending from a proximal surface of the support cap through the open distal end of the conduit. The support cap is capable of being moved between a retracted position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the distal end of the drainage tube is spaced apart from the support cap, such that the support cap supports portions of the superior wall of the bladder from occluding the one or more fluid ports or perforations of the drainage tube.

摘要： A device for draining bodily fluids is described herein which generally may comprise an elongate body defining one or more lumens configured to receive a bodily fluid from a cavity, e.g., bladder, of a patient body. The one or more lumens are in fluid communication with a reservoir which may receive the bodily fluid. A pumping mechanism may be used to urge the bodily fluid through the one or more lumens, where the pumping mechanism is configured to maintain an open space within the one or more lumens such that outflow of the bodily fluid through the one or more lumens remains unobstructed such that a negative pressure buildup in the cavity is inhibited. The device may also include a vent or valve mechanism in communication with the elongate body to allow air to enter or exit the one or more lumens.
