摘要： An elbow prosthesis constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings can include a capitellar implant having an articulating head and a stem. The articulating head can have a first articulating surface positioned generally between a lateral side and a medial side. A passage can extend through the articulating head from the lateral side to the medial side. The articulating head can define a counterbore formed at the lateral side and that is concentric with the passage. According to other features, the elbow prosthesis can include a coronoid implant that has a body and a stem. The body can have a superior articulating surface that includes a central ridge and an anterior buttress. The central ridge can be configured to accommodate articulation with a trochlea in an implanted position.

摘要： The invention concerns a lower arm arthroplasty, possibly a proximal radial head replacement or a distal radio-ulnar arthroplasty. The arthroplasty includes an intermedullary stem (12, 52) having a first end for anchorage in a hole in a forearm bone and a second end (14, 60). The arthroplasty also has a head (18, 55) with an external, curved surface (44,46, 66) for articulation relative to another bone (53). Another component of the arthroplasty is an intermediate member (16, 54) which locates between the head and the second end of the stem and is enagable with those components. The intermediate member is engagable with at least the stem in an articulating manner which allows the head to pivot relative to the stem through a limited range of angles. In the preferred embodiment, the intermediate member engages both the head and the stem in articulating manner.

摘要： A prosthetic joint kit that is particularly well suited for an elbow. In each of the various embodiments, the prosthetic joint kit transmits load through the prosthetic joint (10) through a pair of spherically shaped bearing surfaces (66, 84) so as to transmit load over a relatively large area rather than at a point or over a line of contact. The prosthetic joint kit may be configured in a modular manner wherein a plurality of interchangeable stem structures, bearing structures and/or bearing inserts of various types are available. Construction in this manner enables a surgeon to configure the prosthetic joint (10) to best suit the needs of the patient. For example, the surgeon may employ a modular flange (20) for compressing a bone graft (110), a tissue fastener (22) for securing soft tissue to a portion of the prosthetic joint (10), a cam (600) for limiting the amount by which the prosthetic joint (10) articulates or a bearing insert for tailoring the degree of varus/valgus constraint.

摘要： An elbow prosthesis according to the present teachings can include a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure can be operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint. The stem structure can include a stem portion that is operable to be positioned in the bone and a C-shaped body portion having a first retaining mechanism formed thereon. The articulating component can have a second retaining mechanism formed thereon. One of the first and second retaining mechanisms can comprise an extension portion and a first anti-rotation portion. The other retaining mechanism can comprise a receiving portion and a second anti-rotation portion. The articulating component can be advanced from an insertion position to an assembled position, such that the first and second mechanisms cooperatively interlock to inhibit translation and rotation of the articulating component relative to the C-shaped body portion of the stem structure.
