    • A stimulating section (2) applies stimulation to a living body (100). A first lead electrode (3) and a second lead electrode (4) are attached on the living body (100). A first amplifier circuit (5) amplifies potential difference that is evoked between the first lead electrode (3) and the second lead electrode (4) due to the stimulation. A first switch (6) cancels electrical connection between the first amplifier circuit (5) and each of the first lead electrode (3) and the second lead electrode (4) at least while the stimulation is applied. A high-pass filter (7) includes a capacitor (C) and filters a frequency component of an output from the first amplifier circuit (5) that is no less than a predetermined value. A second amplifier circuit (8) amplifies the output from the first amplifier circuit (5). A second switch (10) stops charging/discharging of the capacitor (C) and decreases a gain of the second amplifier circuit (8) at least while the first switch (6) cancels the electrical connection.
