摘要： A temporary esophagus occlusion device for providing temporary occlusion of the esophagus during intubation of a patient includes a frame configured to transition between a contracted state, in which it can be swallowed by the patient, and an expanded state, wherein in the expanded state, the frame has a maximum outer diameter sufficient to span an inner diameter of the esophagus of the patient. The device also includes a flexible cover connected to and extending over at least a portion of the frame when the frame is in the expanded state to at least partially block flow of fluid and/or solid materials through the esophagus and a guidewire attached to the frame, sized to be swallowed by the patient along with the frame and having a proximal end portion configured to remain external to the patient's body and a distal end connected to the frame.

A tube body having a proximal end and a distal end and configured for placement into a patient's esophagus, a first balloon component associated with the tube body including at least one first pressure sensor associated therewith, a second balloon component associated with the tube body comprising at least one second pressure sensor associated therewith, a first conduit in fluid communication with the first balloon component, and a second conduit in fluid communication with the second balloon component. 摘要： An implantable medical device for sealing and repairing defects in a body tissue or for creating an anastomosis includes a frame and a covering material. In some embodiments, the frame includes a single continuously wound wire that defines an apposition portion, a defect-occupying portion, and a sealing portion, in some embodiments, the tissue-sealing and anastomosis devices provided herein are well-suited for use in the Gl tract including the small bowel and colon. In some embodiments, a two-part frame construct facilitates independent tailoring of apposition forces and radial forces exerted on tissues by the two-part frame.

摘要： A system and method for improving outcome following cerebral ischemia is provided. The system includes a source of nitric oxide and an elongate tubular member coupled to the source of nitric oxide, the tubular member for insertion into a nose and having at least one orifice thereon. The tubular member configured for delivering the nitric oxide into a nasal cavity through the at least one orifice for absorption into a cerebral vasculature through a nasal vasculature. The method includes delivering nitric oxide into the nasal cavity for absorption into the brain through the nasal vasculature and preventing the inhalation of nitric oxide into the lungs to prevent pulmonary vasodilatation or maintaining the nitric oxide in the nasal cavity.

摘要： The present invention is an improved separating device for providing the malabsorptive component of a minimally invasive weight reduction system. This device may be a sleeve, liner, or tubular sheath that alters absorption of compositions through walls of hollow organs (stomach, intestines). The improvement involves better long-term retention through the ability of the device to engage with the interserosal fibrotic tissue formed in an intussusception. The separating device may be a distal extension of a retaining member that is directly engaged with and retained by intussuscepted tissue. Intussusception shrinks a hollow organ to provide a volume reducing restrictive component of a weight reduction system. Securing the separating device to an intussusception avoids retention problems of reference art devices as interserosal fibrosis helps secure the device. Also provided are an apparatus for retaining the device, a device and method for delivering the separating device, and a method for removing it.

摘要： Some embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to methods and systems for percutaneously treating dissections in a patient's vasculature, such as, without limitation, the aorta. The method can include deploying a catheter containing a collapsed anchoring element, frame, and cover through a first vessel to an entry point of the dissection. In some embodiments, the anchoring element can be secured to the second branch vessel. The frame can be expanded in the first branch vessel. The cover can be unfolded over at least a portion of the entry point. The cover then reduces blood flow into the entry point.
