    • The present invention relates to a method for producing consumer-ready vegetables, mushrooms or herbs, comprising the steps of a) culturing vegetables, mushrooms or herbs in a closed container under suitable growing conditions until maturity; and b) transferring the container with the mature vegetable, mushrooms or herb to a retail outlet, wherein the vegetables, mushrooms or herbs are cultured in a container that comprises a plant compartment for containing the vegetables, mushrooms or herbs and a separate water compartment for containing water and nutrients, wherein one of the two compartments is provided with means for allowing water and nutrients to enter the plant compartment while preventing contaminations and pathogens from entering the said plant compartment. Preventing contaminations is achieved a filter that is permeable to water and nutrients but impermeable to contaminations and pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, protists or insects, preferably located in the bottom of the plant compartment. Suitably, the plant compartment comprises means for transporting water and nutrients entering the plant compartment to the vegetables, mushrooms or herbs.

    • This invention discloses a method for developing in vitro cultures including callus, cell suspension and somatic embryos and in vitro shoots of the Indian medicinal plant, V. odorata , using one or more plant cell culture media and optimum cultivation conditions, wherein, the said in vitro cultures can yield high concentration of cyclic-peptides, peptides or polypeptides including known and novel cyclotides. This invention also relates to an optimized identification and extraction protocol for cyclotides in in vitro cultures and natural plants of V. odorata using aqueous alcohol, wherein the said cyclotides have six cysteine residues, three disulfide bonds and a cyclic backbone with molecular mass of about 2.5 to 4.0 kDa. The in vitro cultures of V. odorata developed as per the disclosed method expressed very low amount of other bio-molecule impurities, indicating direction of the metabolic flux towards production of said cyclotides.

    • Systems, and methods for controlling a modular system for improved real-time yield monitoring and sensor fusion of crops in an orchard are disclosed. According to some embodiments of the invention, a modular system for improved real-time yield monitoring and sensor fusion may include a collection vehicle, a modular processing unit, a volume measurement module, a three-dimensional point-cloud scanning module, an inertial navigation system, and a post-processing server. As the collection vehicle travels through an orchard, the volume measurement module calculates volume measurements of the windrow, the three-dimensional point-cloud scanning module assembles point-clouds of each plant in the orchard, and the inertial navigation system calculates geodetic positions of the collection vehicle. The modular processing unit may fuse the collected data together and transmit the fused data set to a post-processing server. The post-processing server may process the geodetic position data for errors which may be used for geo-referencing the fused data.
