    • There is provided hands-free lighting, components thereof, and other accessories combined with the hands-free lighting. The hands-free lighting is preferably lighted headgear including hats or lighted clothing items. The hands-free lighting may also include various accessories for use therewith, such as a camera mounted to the headgear with a flash configured to reduce the effects of red eye, different configurations to dissipate heat generated from a high powered light source, switches that are concealed within the headgear to maintain the normal appearance of the hat, protective guards for an activation switch to prevent inadvertent activation thereof, and a relatively flexible battery module configured to power the lighted hat while maintaining its natural and streamlined appearance.

    • An eyeglass apparatus (10) is provided including a pair of lenses (14, 16) and a housing (12) therefor in which the lenses are disposed in a stowed position and are able to be shifted to a use position while still connected to the housing (12). The lenses are operably connected to a pivot mount (18), so that they pivot into and out from the housing to provide for space conversation in the housing. A detent (20) is providing between the lenses and housing which releasably maintains the lenses in their stowed position and is operable via an actuator (19) to allow the lenses (14, 16) to shift to their use position where the housing (12) preferably is between the lens to be used as a handle. In this form, the housing includes opposite side openings, and there is a biasing mechanism (32) that urges the lens assemblies out through the side openings. The viewing lens are kept attached to the housing whether in the stowed or use position thereof so as to prevent their separation from each other, and the potential for loss that this creates. In addition, the preferred small size of the present housing maintains a compact form for the apparatus herein when not in use to enable it to be easily transported such as in a user's pocket or the like. The small size of the present eyeglass apparatus allows it to incorporate additional features without creating a significant increase in its size, i.e., light module, digital memo recorder module, and/or writing portion.

    • Lighted headgear is described having a head-fitting portion with a light assembly mounted thereto. The light assembly includes a light source, a power source, and a switch device. The light source is mounted to the head-fitting portion to provide illumination forwardly and/or downwardly thereof. The head-fitting portion can include a loop of material so that the light assembly can be disposed therein to substantially conceal the light assembly from view with the light source thereof projecting through an opening the loop of material. A light module for mounting to the brim of headgear is also described that includes a housing sized to receive a light assembly therein including light sources, a power source, and a switch device. The light module includes a forwardly and downwardly projecting light mount having cavities therein to receive the light sources.

    • A heating apparatus (10) is provided which is improved in terms of its heating efficiencies over prior commercially available patio heaters. The heating apparatus includes a burner assembly housing (24) containing a burner assembly (22) for igniting fuel from a fuel source. The housing has a perforated wall (28) so that the hot gases inside the housing can escape from the housing interior with the wall heating up so as to radiate infrared heat therefrom. The apparatus has a heat efficiency system (25) which causes substantially all of the heat emanating from the housing to be used for heating a preselected area about the apparatus. The heat efficiency system maximizes the amount of heat that is directed in a generally downward direction into the preselected area below the housing so as to minimize the heat loss and thus the amount of fuel that is necessary for heating the preselected area.

Camera accessories that can be mounted to the headgear can include a switch, a control panel, a view finder, one or more lights.     • Lighted reading glasses (5) are provided to enable clear reading of normal sized text to occur when the reading material (10) is held at usual distances from the reader in poorly lit locations. The lighted glasses have high intensity lights, such as in the form of LEDs (108) that generate narrow light beams cones and which are oriented in light modules to inwardly cant the light beam cones to meet and overlap so high brightness light is generated in a conical overlap area of light which is maximized in size in the range of normal reading distances. In another form, a clip-on light apparatus is provided that includes a spacer frame having opposite end portions each mounting lights, preferably constructed as described above. In one form, retainers at the end portions are adapted to releasably engage outer sides of the eyeglass lenses. The frame preferably incorporates a draw spring assembly to allow adjustments for different size glasses. In another form, the light spacing is fixed and a clipping mechanism is provided for clipping to the eyeglasses in the area generally between the eyeglasses lenses.
