摘要： Benzene is transalkylated with existing aromatic alkyl groups in a hydrocracking reactor by feeding a benzene stream and alkylated aromatic compounds to a hydrocracking unit. Alkyl groups migrate from heavier alkylated aromatic compounds to the benzene compounds during transalkylation in the hydrocracking unit. The hydrocracking conditions do not prevent the alkyl groups from transferring from one benzene ring to another benzene ring.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses are provided for deoxygenating pyrolysis oil. A method includes contacting a pyrolysis oil with a deoxygenation catalyst in a first reactor at deoxygenation conditions to produce a first reactor effluent. The first reactor effluent has a first oxygen concentration and a first hydrogen concentration, based on hydrocarbons in the first reactor effluent, and the first reactor effluent includes an aromatic compound. The first reactor effluent is contacted with a dehydrogenation catalyst in a second reactor at conditions that deoxygenate the first reactor effluent while preserving the aromatic compound to produce a second reactor effluent. The second reactor effluent has a second oxygen concentration lower than the first oxygen concentration and a second hydrogen concentration that is equal to or lower than the first hydrogen concentration, where the second oxygen concentration and the second hydrogen concentration are based on the hydrocarbons in the second reactor effluent.

A pyrolysis gas stream is separated into a light pyrolysis gas stream and a heavy pyrolysis gas stream. A light pyrolysis gas stream is separated into a normal paraffins stream and a non-normal paraffins stream. A normal paraffins stream is thermally cracked. The integrated process may be employed to obtain olefin products of high value from a crude stream.

摘要： Processes for controlling at least one process condition of a chemical processing unit with a turbine. In the processes, a flow of a fluid is adjusted with a turbine in order to provide the fluid with a flow associated with at least one process condition of a chemical processing unit. The turbine wheel is rotated within the turbine, and the turbine wheel is configured to transmit rotational movement to an electrical generator. The resistance of the turbine is modulated and adjusts the flow of the fluid through the turbine. A response time of at least one steady state process condition to a new steady state process condition of at least 10% difference is at least one second to reach 50% of the difference between the at least one steady state process condition and the new steady state process condition after modulating the resistance of the turbine.

A method of preparing normal paraffins includes providing an unsaturated feed that includes an unsaturated compound that has at least one alkenyl group. The unsaturated feed is epoxidized to convert the at least one alkenyl group in the unsaturated compound to an epoxide functional group, thereby converting the unsaturated compound to an epoxide compound that has at least one epoxide functional group. The at least one epoxide functional group in the epoxide compound is converted to at least one secondary hydroxyl functional group, thereby converting the epoxide compound to a hydroxyl-functional compound that has at least one hydroxyl functional group. The hydroxyl-functional compound is deoxygenated to form normal paraffins.

A pressure of a vapor stream is reduced with a turbine to provide a lower pressure vapor stream. The vapor stream rotates a turbine wheel within the turbine. The lower pressure vapor stream is injected into a reactor and reduces a temperature in the reactor or reduces a partial pressure of a hydrocarbon vapor in the reactor.

摘要： Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units, apparatuses, and methods for catalytically cracking a mixture of a pyrolysis oil stream and a hydrocarbon stream are provided herein. In an embodiment, an FCC unit includes a reaction chamber suitable for contacting a pyrolysis oil, a hydrocarbon, and a catalyst. The FCC unit includes a coolant conduit having an coolant outlet in communication with the reaction chamber and suitable for introducing a coolant stream through the coolant outlet into the reaction chamber. The FCC unit further includes a pyrolysis oil conduit including a pyrolysis oil outlet positioned within the coolant conduit and suitable for injecting the pyrolysis oil through the pyrolysis oil outlet into the reaction chamber.

Aromatic compounds are formed from non-aromatic compounds with an aromatic catalyst in an aromatic production zone downstream from the deoxygenation reaction zone.
