摘要： Embodiments of the disclosure provide an aqueous reforming system and a method for upgrading heavy hydrocarbons. A hydrocarbon feed and a surfactant stream are combined to produce a first precursor stream. The first precursor stream and an alkali feed are combined to produce a second precursor stream. The second precursor stream and a transition metal feed are combined to produce a catalytic emulsion stream. The catalytic emulsion stream is heated to produce a catalytic suspension and a decomposition gas, where the decomposition gas is separated by a first separator. The catalytic suspension is combined with a preheated water stream to produce an aqueous reformer feed. The aqueous reformer feed is introduced to an aqueous reformer such that the heavy hydrocarbons undergo conversion reactions to produce an effluent stream. The effluent stream is introduced to a second separator to produce a heavy stream and a light stream. The light stream is introduced to a third separator to produce a gas stream, a distillate stream, and a spent water stream. Optionally, a portion of the distillate stream and the hydrocarbon feed can be combined to produce the first precursor stream such that the first precursor stream is in the absence of a surfactant.

Types of heat exchangers include shell and tube, plate, plate and shell, plate fin, air cooled, wetted-surface air cooled, or the like. Operating methods may impact deterioration in equipment condition, prolong equipment life, extend production operating time, or provide other benefits. Mechanical or digital sensors may be used for monitoring equipment, and sensor data may be programmatically analyzed to identify developing problems. For example, sensors may be used in conjunction with one or more system components to detect and correct maldistribution, cross-leakage, strain, pre-leakage, thermal stresses, fouling, vibration, problems in liquid lifting, conditions that can affect air-cooled exchangers, conditions that can affect a wetted-surface air-cooled heat exchanger, or the like. An operating condition or mode may be adjusted to prolong equipment life or avoid equipment failure.

The method of improving the feed quality of the petroleum feedstock, product or fraction mixture occurs by first determining the API Gravity of a petroleum feedstock, product or fraction mixture. A temperature at which about fifty percent of the petroleum feedstock, product or fraction boils (T50) is then determined. The feed quality for the petroleum feedstock, product or fraction mixture as determined from the API Gravity and the T50 for the feedstock, product or fraction mixture is then estimated followed by adjusting the petroleum feedstock, product or fraction mixture to achieve a higher feed quality.

摘要： Process and apparatus for producing a naphtha stream is provided. The process comprises providing a kerosene stream to a hydrocracking reactor. The kerosene stream is hydrocracked in the presence of a hydrogen stream and a hydrocracking catalyst in the hydrocracking reactor at hydrocracking conditions comprising a hydrocracking pressure, a hydrocracking temperature, and a liquid hourly space velocity at a net conversion of at least 90%, to provide a hydrocracked effluent stream comprising liquefied petroleum gas, heavy naphtha fraction and light naphtha fraction. One or more of the hydrocracking conditions are adjusted to maintain a ratio of the light naphtha fraction to the heavy naphtha fraction of at least 2 by weight, suitably at least 2.2 and preferably at least 2.5 in the hydrocracked effluent stream while maintaining the net conversion of at least 90%.

摘要： A process is provided for determining the suitability of a heavy oil, such as steam cracker tar, for upgrading using hydroprocessing without long term fouling of the hydroprocessing reactor. The process includes introducing a hydrogen donor solvent to a sample of the heavy oil, heating the sample of the tar, quenching the sample, and measuring an amount of dehydrogenated hydrogen donor solvent in the sample. A pyrolysis tar can be blended with a second pyrolysis tar having a low activity reactive radical content to produce a blend that can be hydroprocessed with decreased fouling.
