    • A multilayer capacitor with a body comprising first and second electrode levels arranged one above the other, is disclosed. A first electrode (2, 4) is arranged in each of the first electrode levels and a second electrode (3, 5) in each of the second electrode levels. The electrodes of one type are connected to each other and insulated from the electrodes of the other type, wherein a further second electrode (6, 5) is arranged in at least one first electrode level, separated from the first electrodes (2, 4) at this level by a gap (12) wherein the ratio of length to width is at least three. The invention further relates to a multilayer capacitor in which the connection of the first (2) and the second electrodes (3) to each other occurs by means of through contacts (16, 17) running through at least one of the second (3) or first electrodes (2).
