摘要： A system for program information discovery is described. A method and a device for generating and inserting a watermark for such program information discovery into a program signal to be rendered are disclosed, along with the corresponding method and device for watermark detection and decoding from the rendered program signals. Watermark, which carries channel/program information, is encoded and embedded at the set top box where the program streams are received and decoded for rendering. Second screen devices are employed for watermark detection and decoding by capturing the render program signals which has the watermark embedded. The extracted watermark information may be sent to information servers for more detailed channel/program information.

摘要： A method of using the power saving mode of a wireless protocol used in a time division multiplexed cable interface includes transmitting a power saving indication from a station to an access point using the cable interface and entering, by the station, into a power saving mode with respect to the cable interface. With the cable interface in a power saving mode, the station can switch to a wireless LAN mode and service clients using a wireless interface. The station receives beacon information periodically from the cable interface. The beacon information useful in determining whether the station should return to a cable interface operation mode for operations with the access point.

摘要： The present invention relates a bidirectional signal transmission apparatus and method, wherein said apparatus comprises a processor unit connected in signal communication with an Ethernet, an RF modulation/demodulation unit, and an RF frequency conversion unit connected in signal communication with a coaxial cable network. The data signal input from the Ethernet is modulated into standard IEEE802.11 signal by means of said signal processing unit and RF modulation/demodulation unit, and then down-converted from 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz standard IEEE802.11 signal to a range of 500 MHz to 2000 MHz, and preferably to a range of 900 MHz to 1200 MHz. The bidirectional transmission apparatus further includes a frequency band selector for selecting different frequency bands so as to broaden the bandwidth of the signal and a real broad band data transmission is accomplished.
