摘要： A hearing aid instrument (105) of the in-the-ear type (and preferably CIC) provides a plate member (117) with electronic hearing aid components mounted thereto. The plate member (117) is preferably of a harder material such as hard plastic. A soft polymeric body (145) is bonded to the plate member (117) and encapsulates preferably a plurality of the electronic hearing aid components. The body (145) is soft and is shaped to conform to the ear canal of the user. The soft polymeric body (145) and encapsulated electronic hearing aid components define a soft structure compliant to the ear canal during use and that is substantially solid and free of void spaces between at least some of the components and the ear canal. This combination of soft compliant structure and encapsulated electronic hearing aid components addresses problems of peripheral leakage, poor fit, pivotal displacement that occurs with jaw motion and internal cross talk of components housed in prior art hollow type hearing aids.

摘要： A method and apparatus for cleaning a hearing aid provides a housing having a motor drive and speed control. A rotary chamber is mounted on the housing and driven by the motor drive. A drive shaft can be provided connecting the motor drive and the rotary chamber. The rotary chamber has a wall with at least one receptacle for holding a hearing aid. The rotary chamber can have two openings, one for a hearing aid and a second opening for another hearing aid or counterweight. The motor drive is powered to rotate at a rotational speed of between 2800-3200 rpm and for time period of between 5-45 seconds, sufficient to remove earwax.

The controller is mounted to the electric motor with the controller positioned under a tub (202) of the washing machine (200). The tub provides drip protection for the controller (210) during operation of the washing machine. Additional embodiments include a motor and controller assembly in which a heat producing component (122a) of the controller is thermally coupled to a heat sink (109). The heat sink is positioned on an endshield (114) of the electric motor and/or external to a housing of the motor controller. A stator(108) of the electric motor can include one or more magnet wires (402,404,406) attached directly to a connector (408) for the motor controller (104).

摘要： A front loading washing machine includes an integrated motor and controller assembly (100). In various embodiments, the controller (104) is mounted directly to one of a pair of opposing endshields (114, 116) of the electric motor (102) and the endsheilds (114, 116) are mounted directly to a stator (108) of the motor (102). Additional embodiments include a rotor shaft (112) of the motor (102) having each of opposing ends supported within a bearing (138, 140) mounted within a respective one of the opposing endshields (114, 116). In other embodiments, the controller 104 can include an insulating shield (120a') positioned between a controller circuit board 118 and the motor endshield (114) to which the controller (104) is mounted. The insulating shield (120a') providing electrical arcing protection, thermal insulation and/or electro-magnetic insulation between the circuit board (118) and the endshield (114).
