    • Having increasingly larger module formats, the known installation systems no longer sufficiently meet the manufacturing and installation requirements of industrial photovoltaic systems. The novel installation system is intended to gently and reliably hold large-scale frameless thin-film modules, while taking high wind and snow loads into account. In addition, it is supposed to be installed without tools and satisfy manufacturing requirements. The installation system comprises two profile-shaped cross-rails, which are disposed parallel to and at a distance from each other and have planar support surfaces (19a, b). In addition, it comprises a plurality of retainers (13), which are fixed to the back (11) of a PV module (1) by means of adhesive (12). The PV module (1) can be mounted on the cross-rails by way of the retainers (13), for which purpose each retainer (13) has a depression and each cross-rail has an integrated protrusion, or each retainer has a protrusion and each cross-rail has an integrated depression.
