摘要： A method and apparatus for pressing a gear (30) or the like onto a shaft (45). A pressing actuator (130) has a fixed portion (131) and a movable actuator rod (145) for engaging a face (31) of the gear. The actuator rod moves through and is concentric with the pressing sleeve (100). An actuator rod adapter (155) and a shaft adapter (185) attach the shaft to the actuator rod. When the actuator rod is retracted within the actuator body, the shaft is pulled through a shaft bore in the gear by the actuator rod, the actuator rod adpater and the shaft adapter while the gear is held stationary with respect to the actuator fixed portion by the pressing sleeve, thus pressing the gear onto the shaft.

The internal bore includes a keyway (16) therein. The adapter assembly also includes a key (170) for securing the adapter for rotation with the rotatable shaft (50), the key (170) including a longitudinal portion (175) extending in the direction of the shaft (50), and a tab portion (180) extending outwardly with respect to the longitudinal portion (175). The tab portion (180) is adapted to engage the interior end face (150) of the adapter member (145) when the adapter assembly is mounted on a shaft (50), such as the shaft (50) of a gear reducer (15).

摘要： A shaft-carried speed reducer (10) is provided having an adaptable mounting arrangement. The hub (30) of the speed reducer (10) is configured having a substantially cylindrical axial bore (44). At least one annular groove (46) may be defined in the axial bore (44) to receive a snap ring (48) when desired. A removable adapter (50) having a tapered interior surface (54) may then be situated in the hub bore (44) to abut the snap ring (48). As an alternative to such a snap ring, an annular flange (64) may be provided on the removable adapter to engage an end face of the hub. A tapered sleeve member (52) engages the tapered interior surface (54) defined on the removable adapter to effect securement of the hub to the shaft. If a single adapter is used, it may be inserted from either side of the the hub in some configuration. Further, some configurations permit a pair of adapters and corresponding sleeve members bo be used. The adapter and snap ring, if any, may be romoved when the hub is to be secured to a screw conveyor drive shaft or the like.

摘要： An adaptable mounting arrangement is provided for securing a shaft (112) to a hub (30) of a speed reducer or other mechanical power transmission device. The hub is configured having a pair of tapered interior surfaces (48, 50) converging to a location approximately at the midpoint of an axial bore defined in the hub. A pair of counterbores (44, 46) are also defined in the interior surface of the hub (30) at opposite axial ends thereof. One or more tapered sleeve members (52) may be provided to engage the tapered interior surfaces defined in the hub. Alternatively, annular bushings (90) may be provided in each of the counterbores when the hub is to be secured to a screw conveyor drive shaft or the like.
