In an embodiment, a master scheduler having at least one processor and at least one memory operably connected to the at least one processor is adapted to execute instructions stored in the at least one memory, the instructions comprising selecting a packet with a highest packet metric from among candidate packets from one carrier of a plurality of carriers, whereby expedited forwarding flows do not have a higher metric on another carrier.

摘要： Adaptive delay management means and method for allocating resources having different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. A Forward Link (FL) scheduler prepares transmission instances by treating pending data queues according to a priority class, such as Best Effort (BE) and Expedited Forwarding (EF). Data bits from multiple queues are stuffed into a transmission instance. Various metrics are used to generate a set of candidates for transmission and then select and build a next transmission instance from the set of candidates.

摘要： A receiver system determines a current preamble threshold and a current preamble metric and determines whether a preamble is detected. If a preamble is detected, the receiver determines whether an earlier preamble has been detected in an earlier time slot having a common time slot interlace index, and resolves multiple detections of a preamble based on at least one of the current preamble and an old preamble thresholds, the current and an old preamble metrics. The receiver decodes data following the selected preamble and determines the CRC of the decoded data. If a CRC failure is detected, the receiver determines a new current preamble threshold. The new current preamble threshold is larger than the current preamble threshold. If the current preamble metric is larger than the new current preamble threshold, the receiver determines the CRC failure as an actual CRC failure, otherwise as a false CRC failure.

摘要： An access network determines to transmit multicast messages on a downlink shared channel. The access network receives a multicast registration message and a traffic channel request from at least one access terminal. The access network assigns a traffic channel to the at least one access terminal, and transmits the multicast messages on the downlink shared channel. In another example, the access network can determine a channel type upon which the support a multicast session, can indicate the channel type selection to the at least one access terminal in an announce message and can then transmit the multicast messages for the multicast session on the selected channel type. The at least one access terminal receives the announce message, requests a traffic channel and receives a traffic channel assignment, registers to the multicast session and monitors the downlink shared channel for multicast messages.
