The systems and techniques involve wireless communications wherein a module or communications device is configured to select first and second terminal pairs, the first terminal pair having a first transmitting terminal and a first receiving terminal, and the second terminal pair having a second transmitting terminal and a second receiving terminal, schedule a first signal transmission from the first transmitting terminal to an intermediate terminal, the first signal transmission being destined for the first receiving terminal, schedule, simultaneously with the first signal transmission, a second signal transmission from the second transmitting terminal to the second receiving terminal, and schedule a power level for each of the first and second signal transmissions that satisfies a target quality parameter for each of the intermediate terminal and the second receiving terminal.

The scheduling function may include scheduling an inter-piconet transmission between first transmitting (106b) and receiving terminals (208a) including scheduling a power level for the inter-piconet transmission that satisfies a target quality parameter at the first receiving terminal. The scheduling function may also include scheduling an intra-piconet transmission between second transmitting (106c) and receiving terminals (106e), including scheduling a power level for the intra-piconet transmission that satisfies a target quality parameter at the second receiving terminal. The intra-piconet transmission may be scheduled simultaneous with the inter-piconet transmission.

For example, a method may comprise, for each of a plurality of activity classifications, determining activity likelihood function values for each of the plurality of activity classifications for two or more past epochs. The activity likelihood function values are based, at least in part, on signals from one or more sensors of a mobile device. The method may also include combining the activity likelihood function values to determine a likelihood function for an activity classification at a present epoch. The method may also include inferring a present activity of a user co-located with the mobile device to be one of the activity classifications based, at least in part, on the determined likelihood functions for the activity classifications at the present epoch.
