摘要： An elevator door lock includes a locking member (40) that moves into an unlocked position responsive to contact with at least one door coupler member (32, 34). In disclosed examples, the locking member (40) comprises an arm that is pivotally supported by one of the door coupler members (34). The other coupler member (32) contacts a contact portion (42) on the locking member (40) to move the locking member into an unlocked position as the first coupler member (32) moves toward the second coupler member (34). In a disclosed example, a magnetic coupling between the coupler members maintains the locking member (40) in an unlocked position.

摘要： An elevator door assembly (20) includes an electromagnet (30) use as part of a door coupler for coupling elevator car doors (24) to elevator hoistway doors (26). A disclosed example includes an electromagnet core (40) with a gap (50) in one of four sides of the core. The gap (50) directs and concentrates magnetic flux of the electromagnet (30) to concentrate an attractive force for coupling the electromagnet (30) with a vane (32). Disclosed examples includes unique geometric and dimensional relationships to achieve a desired goodness factor.

摘要： An elevator system (20) includes a cab (22) supported for movement within a hoistway. A plurality of cab-supported sheaves (36, 42) moves with the cab through the hoistway. A first hoistway sheave (38) is located near a first end of the hoistway, and a second hoistway sheave (40) is located near a second end of the hoistway. A load bearing member (30) is provided, which (i) extends from near the first end of the hoistway toward the cab, where the load bearing member is redirected by one of the plurality of cab-supported sheaves toward the first end of the hoistway, (ii) at least partially wraps around each of the first hoistway sheave and the second hoistway sheave, and (iii) extends from near the second end of the hoistway toward the cab, where the load bearing member is redirected by another of the plurality of cab-supported sheaves toward the second end of the hoistway. A tension device (44) maintains tension in the load bearing member.

摘要： An exemplary fire suppression system includes a sprinkler nozzle. At least one conduit is connected to the nozzle for delivering a fire suppression fluid to the nozzle. The conduit and the nozzle establish a discharge path. A pneumatically driven pump is connected with the conduit for pumping fluid into the conduit. A gas source provides pressurized gas to the pump for driving the pump. The gas source also provides gas to the discharge path for achieving a desired discharge of the fluid from the nozzle. A controller selectively controls at least one of (i) the gas provided to the pump, which controls the fluid pressure in the conduit, or (ii) the gas provided to the nozzle or the conduit, which controls the gas pressure delivered to the nozzle.

摘要： An exemplary fire suppression system includes a nozzle body configured to carry a fire suppressing fluid to be discharged from a first orifice array and a second orifice array. Gas bubbles can be introduced through a bubbler into the fire suppressing fluid to establish a bubbly mixture in the nozzle. Each first orifice in the first orifice array has a first flow property and is configured to receive the bubbly mixture and through effervescent atomization yield a first fire suppression mist from the first orifice array. Each second orifice in the second orifice array has a second different flow property and is configured to receive the bubbly mixture and through effervescent atomization yield a second fire suppression mist from the second orifice array. The first fire suppression mist and the second fire suppression mist are configured to provide a selected fire suppression nozzle discharge.
