    • Foot support systems, such as sole structures 104 for articles of footwear 100, include a first pump (500, 800) having a first inlet (502I, 802I) and a first outlet (502O, 802O) in fluid communication with a first internal pump chamber (502C, 802C) defined by the first pump. The first internal pump chamber includes an open space defined, at least in part, between a first wall (504A, 804A) and a second wall (504B, 804B) located opposite the first wall. At least one of the first wall or the second wall is collapsible to decrease volume of the first internal pump chamber and force fluid to exit the first internal pump chamber via the first outlet. A first sole component (300) includes a first major surface (302G) and a second major surface (302I) opposite the first major surface. The second major surface includes a first pump containing region (302P, 312P), and this first pump containing region defines a first pump engaging surface (302S, 312S) configured to lie immediately adjacent an exterior side of the first wall of the first internal pump chamber. Similarly, a second sole component (600) includes a third major surface (602I) and a fourth major surface (602G) opposite the third major surface. The fourth major surface includes a second pump containing region (602P, 612P), and this second pump containing region defines a second pump engaging surface (602S, 612S) configured to lie immediately adjacent an exterior side of the second wall of the first internal pump chamber. Fluid transfer systems 1000 also are described including these pump features. The foot support systems, sole structures, and fluid transfer systems further may include two or more pumps, e.g., arranged in a sole structure as described above and potentially connected in series (e.g., so that one pump pumps fluid to the next pump in the series).

    • Foot support systems for articles of footwear include: (a) a foot support bladder (200); (b) a fluid container (400); (c) a fluid supply (e.g., via pump(s) 600H, 600F, the external environment (150), a compressor, etc.); (d) a valve housing (902); and (e) a valve stem (910) movably (e.g., rotatably) mounted in the valve housing (902). The valve stem (910) includes a first end (910A), a second end (910B), and a perimeter wall (910W) extending between the first end (910 A) and the second end (910B). The first end (910A), the second end (910B), and the perimeter wall (910W) define an internal chamber (9101) of the valve stem (910), and the perimeter wall (910W) of the valve stem (910) includes a plurality of through holes (91 OH) extending from the internal chamber (9101) to an exterior surface of the perimeter wall (910W). A fluid inlet port (8001, 902A) places the fluid supply in fluid communication with the internal chamber (9101). The foot support system further includes a manifold (800) having: (a) a first manifold port (800B, 804) in fluid communication with the external environment (150) and opening into a first fluid flow path (806) extending through the manifold (800), (b) a second manifold port (800C, 808) in fluid communication with the foot support bladder (200) and opening into a second fluid flow path (810) extending through the manifold (800), and (c) a third manifold port (800D, 814) in fluid communication with the fluid container (400) and opening into a third fluid flow path (812) extending through the manifold (800). Movement of the valve stem (910) to a plurality of positions selectively places the foot support system in a plurality of operational states by placing one or more of the plurality of through holes (91 OH) of the valve stem (910) in fluid communication with the first fluid flow path (806), the second fluid flow path (810), and/or the third fluid flow path (812).

    • Sole structures, foot support systems, articles of footwear, and/or other foot-receiving devices include a fluid flow control system that facilitates movement of fluid into, out of, and/or within the sole structure and/or article of footwear, e.g., to change and/or control pressure in one or more fluid filled bladders included in the overall foot support system. Such fluid flow control systems include: (a) a manifold body (502) defining an internal chamber (504); (b) a first port (510) in fluid communication with the internal chamber (504); (c) optionally a second port (520) in fluid communication with the internal chamber (504); (d) optionally a third port (530) in fluid communication with the internal chamber (504); (e) a first valve (512) controlling fluid flow through the first port (510), wherein the first valve (512) includes a first valve activator (514); (f) optionally a second valve (522) controlling fluid flow through the second port (520), wherein the second valve (522) includes a second valve activator (524); (g) optionally a third valve (532) controlling fluid flow through the third port (530), wherein the third valve (532) includes a third valve activator (534); and (h) a movable cam (600) at least partially located within the internal chamber (504). This movable cam (600) includes: (a) at least one or more first valve activator surfaces (610) that interact with the first valve activator (514) to change the first valve (512) between a closed configuration and an open configuration, (b) optionally one or more second valve activator surfaces (620) that interact with the second valve activator (524, when present) to change the second valve (522) between a closed configuration and an open configuration, and (c) optionally one or more third valve activator surfaces (630) that interact with the third valve activator (534, when present) to change the third valve (532) between a closed configuration and an open configuration.
