摘要： An ear sensor provides a sensor body having a base, legs extending from the base and an optical housing disposed at ends of the legs opposite the base. An optical assembly is disposed in the housing. The sensor body is flexed so as to position the housing over a concha site. The sensor body is unflexed so as to attach the housing to the concha site and position the optical assembly to illuminate the concha site. The optical assembly is configured to transmit optical radiation into concha site tissue and receive the optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood flow within the tissue.

摘要： A circuit board based cable connector is disclosed for use with a sensor connector tab to establish electrical signal connection between a sensor and a monitor or processor. The connector comprises a housing which encloses a circuit board. A slot is formed through a leading edge of the housing to allow insertion of the connector tab. A release mechanism releasably secures the connector tab within the housing. The circuit board is positioned adjacent and generally parallel to the inserted connector tab. Traces are formed on the side of the circuit board opposite the connector tab and establish electrical connection between wires of a cable and connector arms of the circuit board. A ground plane is formed on the tab side of the circuit board and, together with the flexible shield, provides an EMI shielding envelope. The connector arms extend generally parallel to the circuit board and are bent at their free ends to form dips. Slots formed through the circuit board are adapted to receive the dipped contact arm ends. The contact arm dips extend through the slots and into contact with electrical contacts of the connector tab, establishing an electrical connection. The connector tab is easily removed by actuating the release mechanism.

摘要： A regional oximetry sensor has a sensor head attachable to a patient skin surface so as to transmit optical radiation into the skin and receive that optical radiation after attenuation by blood flow within the skin. The sensor includes windows that press into the skin to maximize optical transmission. A stem extending from the sensor head transmits electrical signals between the sensor head and an attached cable. In a peel resistant configuration, the stem is terminated interior to the sensor head and away from a sensor head edge so as to define feet along either side of the stem distal the stem termination. The stem interior termination transforms a peel load on a sensor head adhesive to less challenging tension and shear loads on the sensor head adhesive.
