    • A pump includes a quick connect interface (10) that attaches to any drink dispenser to allow the mounting of the pump without the necessity of connection devices such as threaded fittings and/or clamps. The quick connect interface includes a housing (11) having an inlet port (12) and an outlet port (13). Both the inlet and the outlet ports include a flow regulator that prevents the flow of product from the quick connect interface when the pump is removed. The housing also has a gas port (14) that connects to a gas source to deliver gas into the pump.     • A beverage dispensing apparatus includes a modular dispensing tower (10) which may be positioned remote from the product (32) and the cooling unit (30) or, alternatively, may be mounted onto the cooling unit housing (30) using quick disconnect valves.     • A post mix beverage dispensing nozzle (10) includes a housing (11) which contains a diffuser (12). The nozzle connects to a dispensing valve (13) for dispensing a viscous beverage syrup that must be mixed with a mixing fluid, such as water, before dispensing. The diffuser comprises a plurality of interconnected plates (22-29) with the top plate (22) contacting the beverage syrup entering the nozzle to direct the beverage syrup radially outward in a thin sheet. As the beverage syrup expands radially outward past the surface of the top plate, the mixing fluid shears the beverage syrup and forces it to cascade down the remaining plates of the diffuser. The cascading effect created by the remaining plates results in vigorous mixing which produces a dispensed beverage having the desired mix ratio between mixing fluid and beverage syrup.

    • A positive displacement pump (50) includes a relief valve comprising a valve seat (61), a needle (62) within the valve seat, a spring (63) forcing the needle within the valve seat, a set screw (65) pressing the spring against the needle and a spacer (64) for mounting the set screw to the housing of the positive displacement pump. The valve seat threadably connects within the relief valve passageway to prevent the erosion of the passageway. When the valve seat erodes to a point where it provides an insufficient seat for the needle, it is removed from within the relief valve passageway and replaced with a similar valve seat. By protecting the relief valve passageway from erosion by using an inexpensive, removable, and disposable valve seat, costly disposal or machining of the housing of the positive displacement pump is avoided.
