摘要： A matrix display device comprises cavities (20) having walls at least one of which is covered with a material (24) having a secondary emission coefficient of more than unity. The cavities form a planar arrangement substantially parallel to the display screen which has a phosphor display screen. The cavities are provided with electrodes (21, 215, 217, 5 22, 225, 228) and the display device has a circuit for supplying an oscillating AC voltage (Vr, VRF) to said electrodes (21, 215, 217, 22, 225, 228) for generating electrons within the cavities by secondary emission. The cavities (20) have apertures (25) facing the screen (41), and the display device has a circuit for selectively letting electrons generated within the cavities pass said apertures and accelerating electrons having passed said apertures to the phosphor display screen.

摘要： A display device comprising a first and a second set of electrod es (2, 5), and a plurality of light-emitting elements (3), arranged between said sets of electrodes. The display further comprises an electromechanically operable foil (6), located between said light-emitting elements (3) and said second set of electrodes, with a conducting layer facing the light-emitting elements (3). The foil (6) is arranged to place the conducting layer (7) in contact with selected ones of said light-emitting elements (3), thereby closing a circuit from said first set of electrodes (2), via said elements (3), to said conducting layer (7). Thus, the foil acts as a plurality of "switches", connecting selected light-emitting elements to the conducting layer. This function can be used for controlling the light-emitting elements with a higher degree of accuracy.

摘要： An optical separating filter separates impinging light into a first and a second part having different properties. The separating filter comprises reflective filters (FR) arranged in funnel shaped structures (F1). Each one of the structures (F1) have an inlet area (IA1) to receive the impinging light (IL) and an outlet area (OA1) smaller than the inlet area. (IA1) to converge reflected impinging light (RL) towards the outlet area (OA1). The structures (F1) comprise a first group of funnel shaped structures (F1) constructed to reflect light which has a first property (C1) towards their respective first outlet areas (OA1) and for transmitting light which has a second property (C2) towards respective second outlet areas (OA2).

The device comprises a spatial light modulator (16, 46, 62, 76) including an array of light modulating elements (18, 48, 78), and a light source (12, 42, 72) arranged to illuminate the modulator. The device is characterized in that each light modulating element of the modulator is illuminated by light diverging in a least one dimension, which light is spatially modulated by the modulator and cast onto the projection screen. An advantage with the projection display device according to the invention is that it can be realized in a very compact fashion. The invention further relates to a hand held device comprising such projection display device.

摘要： An autostereoscopic display device has both a barrier arrangement and a lens arrangement. A plurality of views are provided to different lateral viewing directions. At least a portion of the field of view has autostereoscopic output, and the portion having autostereoscopic output has no repetition of individual 2D views and comprises at least three individual 2D views. This means there is no reversal of the stereo views ("pseudo stereo views") at viewing cone boundaries as there are no viewing cone boundaries.
