摘要： A hybrid absorbent foam includes an integrated hybrid foam layer having an open surface, a closed surface, and a foam body extending between the open and closed surfaces. The integrated hybrid foam layer has an open-cell content of at least 50%, while the closed surface provides a barrier to aqueous liquids. The integrated hybrid foam layer is formed as a single layer, and has a substantially uniform polymer composition throughout its thickness. The integrated hybrid foam layer combines the functions of liquid absorbency, retention, and barrier into a single layer, and is useful in a wide variety of absorbent articles.

摘要： A multi-layered web is disclosed that is resilient and/or elastic in the Z-direction. Thus, when the web is compressed, the web assumes a compacted state and then expands to an expanded state when the compressive forces are removed. In one embodiment, the multi-layered web includes a middle layer made from a resilient blend of fibers positioned inbetween two outer layers. The middle layer, for instance, can contain elastomeric fibers, three-dimensional fibers, and/or debonded fibers.

摘要： Sheet-like products, such as tissue products made from a low-density web, are disclosed containing an additive composition. The additive composition, for instance, comprises an aqueous dispersion containing an alpha-olefin polymer, and an ethylene-carboxylic acid copolymer. The additive composition may be applied to the surface of the web so that it does not thoroughly or even substantially penetrate the web. For instance, the additive may be applied to one or both surfaces of the web by gravure printing, press coating, spraying or the like. The additive composition may improve the strength of the tissue web and/or improve the perceived softness of the web.

摘要： A process is disclosed for topically applying additive compositions to planar substrates, such as tissue webs. In one embodiment, the process is designed to apply relatively high viscous compositions to base sheets at high speeds in a manner that prevents the additive composition from penetrating into the sheet. The additive composition having the relatively high viscosity can be applied to the base sheet in one embodiment using an offset gravure printing process. The applicator roll includes a pattern of raised elements. The raised elements define a surface having at least one dimension that is less than 500 microns. The raised elements are also spaced closely together in order to prevent fiber buildup on the roll during relatively fast processing speeds.

摘要： The present invention provides a soft, bulky, and absorbent hydroentangled nonwoven including regenerated cellulose fibers and staple or wood pulp fibers and a method of making the same that includes the steps of a) placing regenerated cellulose fibers on a forming surface; b) depositing staple or wood pulp fibers on the regenerated cellulose fibers; c) hydroentangling the regenerated cellulose fibers and the staple or wood pulp fibers together to form a hydroentangled composite; d) drying the hydroentangled composite; then, e) creping the hydroentangled composite with a frothed creping solution or dispersion.

摘要： The present invention provides a nonwoven substrate comprising a fibrous web defining a surface; and a layer of a benefit agent wherein said benefit agent is selected from an additive composition, an enhancement component and combinations thereof; wherein said benefit agent is frothed and bonded to the fibrous web surface through a creping process. The present invention also provides for a method of creping a nonwoven substrate comprising the steps of (a) providing a nonwoven substrate; (b) positioning an applicator adjacent to a hot, non-permeable drying surface; (c) through said applicator, applying to the drying surface an aqueous, frothed, benefit agent;(d) allowing the frothed, benefit agent to form an adhesive film onto the drying surface;(e) directly bonding the nonwoven substrate to the adhesive film positioned on the drying surface; and (f) scraping the bonded nonwoven substrate and adhesive film from the drying surface. Additionally, the present invention provides for a nonwoven substrate comprising an adhesive film of an aqueous, frothed, benefit agent wherein said benefit agent is selected from an additive composition selected from a synthetic water-soluble polymer, a natural water-soluble polymer and mixtures thereof; an enhancement component selected from the group consisting of micro-particles, thermally expandable microspheres, cut fibers, additional polymer dispersions, fragrances, anti-bacterials, moisturizers, soothers, medicaments and combinations thereof; and mixtures thereof.
