    • Provided are a new industrial process for manufacturing of perfluoropentane (PFP) and the manufacture of a novel intermediate compound thereof, as well as a novel intermediate compound itself and the use thereof in the process for manufacturing of perfluoropentane (PFP). Accordingly, provided are a process for the manufacture of the compound PFP (perfluoropentane), and/or of the compound perfluorinated 4-methylbutyrolactone, i.e., the precursor or intermediate compound of PFP (perfluoropentane), characterized in that the process comprises direct fluorination reaction with F 2gas as the fluorination agent, and/or from the fluorination reaction with SF 4 as the fluorination agent. Herein provides an efficient and simplified new industrial process for manufacturing of perfluoropentane (PFP) and/or of the compound perfluorinated 4-methylbutyrolactone, and preferably enabling large-scale and/or industrial production of perfluoropentane (PFP) and/or of the compound perfluorinated 4-methylbutyrolactone by means of special equipment and special reactor design. The process, for example, is carried out in an autoclave, in a (closed) column reactor, a counter-current reactor system, in particular in a loop reactor system, or in a counter-current (loop) system ("inverse gas scrubber system"), in a tube reactor system, a continuous flow reactor system, in a coil reactor system or in a microreactor system, preferably in a counter-current reactor system or in a microreactor.

    • A novel process of manufacturing the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf) is provided. The compound 1234yf is the newest refrigerant with zero OPD (Ozone Depleting Potential) and zero GWP (Global Warming Potential). Thus, a process involving a carbene genereation route, for the manufacture of the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf), of the compound 243db (2,3-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane), and optionally of the compound 2-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropene (1233xf) via carbene route and compound 243db (2,3-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane) is provided. A process for the manufacture of the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf), wherein the compound 243db (2,3-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane) serves as a starting material, for the manufacture of the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf) is shown. Further, a process for the manufacture of the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf), and of the compound 243db (2,3-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane), wherein the initial starting materials are selected from the group consisting of compound 123 (2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane), compound 124 (2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane), and compound 125 (pentafluoroethane) is provided. The compound 123 (2, 2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane) is preferred as the initial starting material. In particular, the process involves a carbene generation step, and wherein the carbene formed is further reacted towards the targeted compounds, especially towards the compound 243db (2,3-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane), and finally towards the compound 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf).
