摘要： In a process for producing propylene oxide, cyclohexylbenzene is contacted with an oxygen-containing compound under oxidation conditions with or without a suitable catalyst to produce an oxidation reaction effluent comprising cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide. At least a portion of the cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide is then reacted with propylene in the presence of an epoxidation catalyst under conditions effective to produce an epoxidation reaction effluent comprising phenylcyclohexanol and propylene oxide.

摘要： Disclosed herein are catalyst compositions useful in selective decomposition of organic oxygenates. A feed comprising an organic oxygenate may be contacted with a catalyst comprising (a) at least 0.1 wt% of an oxide of an element selected from Group 3 of the Periodic Table of Elements, wherein Group 3 includes the Lanthanide series; (b) at least 0.1 wt% of an oxide of an element selected from Group 6 of the Periodic Table of Elements; and (c) at least 0.1 wt.% of an oxide of at least one element selected from Group 4 of the Periodic Table of Elements, wherein the wt%s are based upon the total combined weight of the oxides in (a) through (c) and excludes any other components.

摘要： A process for the oligomerization of propylene is disclosed wherein a tungstated zirconia catalyst prepared as a distillation structure is used in a reaction distillation zone under conditions of temperature and pressure to concurrently react the propylene to produce oligomers thereof and separate the oligomer products from unreacted propylene by fractional distillation in a distillation column reactor. Compared to the prior art tubular or plug flow reactors, lower temperatures and pressures are used to produce higher conversions and selectivities to preferred isomeric forms useful for preparing neo acids.

摘要： A process is disclosed for producing α-methylstyrene, acetone, and phenol wherein the amount of α-methylstyrene produced may be controlled by selectively converting a portion of the cumene hydroperoxide to dimethyl phenyl carbinol, the hydrated form of α-methylstyrene. The dimethyl phenyl carbinol thus produced will lead to increased production of α-methylstyrene upon dehydration in the acid cleavage unit of the phenol plant. By controlling the fraction of the cumene hydroperoxide reduced to dimethyl phenyl carbinol, the amount of α-methylstyrene produced in the plant can be continuously set to meet the demand of the market for α-methylstyrene. Also disclosed is a nonacidic catalyst for reduction of cumene hydroperoxide.

摘要： A method for making an organometallic treated molecular sieve is described in which a molecular sieve having at least one hydroxyl group and at least [A10 2 ] and [P0 2 ] tetrahedral units and having an average pore dimension less than or equal to about 5A is contacted with a solution comprising an organometallic compound and a non-proton donating solvent. The resulting organometallic treated molecular sieve has enhanced ethylene and/or propylene selectivity when used in the conversion of organic oxygenates to olefins. The ethylene and/or propylene selectivity, as well as catalyst life, are further enhanced when the resulting organometallic treated molecular sieve is combined with an oxide of at least one metal selected from Groups 2, 3 and Group 4 of the Periodic Table.

摘要： In a process for oxidizing a hydrocarbon to a corresponding hydroperoxide, alcohol, ketone, carboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid, the hydrocarbon is contacted with an oxygen- containing gas in the presence of a catalyst comprising a cyclic imide of the general formula (I); wherein each of R 1 and R 2 is independently selected from hydrocarbyl and substituted hydrocarbyl radicals having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or from the groups SO 3 H, NH 2 , OH and NO2, or from the atoms H, F, Cl, Br and I provided that R 1 and R 2 can be linked to one another via a covalent bond; each of Q 1 and Q 2 is independently selected from C, CH, N and CR 3 ; each of X and Z is independently selected from C, S, CH 2 , N, P and elements of Group 4 of the Periodic Table; Y is O or OH; k is O, 1, or 2; 1 is 0, 1, or 2; m is 1 to 3, and R 3 can be any of the entities listed for R 1 . The contacting produces an effluent comprising an oxidized hydrocarbon product and unreacted imide catalyst of said formula (I) and the effluent is treated with a solid sorbent to remove at least part of the unreacted imide catalyst and produce a treated effluent comprising said oxidized hydrocarbon product. The organic phase can then be recovered.

摘要： In a process for producing hydroperoxides, an alkylaromatic compound of general formula (I) in which R 1 and R 2 each independently represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, provided that R 1 and R 2 may be joined to form a cyclic group having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, said cyclic group being optionally substituted, and R 3 represents hydrogen, one or more alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a cyclohexyl group, with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising a manganese oxide molecular sieve to produce a hydroperoxide of general formula (II) in which R 1 , R 2 and R 3 have the same meaning as in formula (I). The hydroperoxide of formula (II) may then be converted to a phenol and an aldehyde or a ketone of the general formula R 1 COCH 2 R 2 (III), in which R 1 and R 2 have the same meaning as in formula (1). In the case where the ketone is cyclohexanone, this may then be dehydrogenated to produce further phenol.

The contacting produces an effluent comprising an oxidized hydrocarbon product and unreacted imide catalyst of formula (I) and the effluent is treated with an aqueous solution of a base to produce an aqueous phase comprising at least part of the unreacted imide catalyst of formula (I) and an organic phase comprising oxidized hydrocarbon product. The organic phase can then be recovered.
