摘要： A method for preparing an article is disclosed. The method comprises compacting a mixture of a first pre-alloyed powder and a lubricant to thereby form a green part having a green strength sufficient to permit mechanical handling; applying a slurry to a surface of the green part to thereby form a slurry coated green part, wherein the slurry comprises a second pre-alloyed powder, a binder, and a solvent; and heating the coated green part to a temperature below a solidus temperature of the first pre-alloyed powder and between a solidus temperature and a liquidus temperature of the second pre-alloyed powder to thereby solid state sinter the first pre-alloyed powder into a sintered core and to liquid state sinter the second pre-alloyed powder into a continuous alloy coating over the sintered core.

摘要： A combined power conversion and carbon capture and recycling subsystem including a fossil fueled oxidation unit, a physical adsorbent C02 capture medium, rotor, motor, heater, C02 compressor, diffuser and water storage tank. Exhaust gas from fossil fuel oxidation is scrubbed of C02 via passage across a physical adsorbent and then released from the adsorbent via fuel oxidation waste heat. High C02 concentration scrubber exhaust air is then compressed and fed to a diffuser which facilitates dissociation of the C02 into water where it is temporarily stored for use in watering plants. Carbon from fossil fuel is recycled back into the environment and permanently stored as biomass by natural means of photosynthesis.

摘要： A method to increase the efficiency of a combined cooling heating and power (CCHP) system includes using an organic Rankine cycle generator to exploit CCHP and cooling system waste heat. The CCHP engine waste heat is transferred to the Rankine cycle via a heat exchanger, allowing sensible heat transfer from the engine to working fluid of the Rankine cycle via either convection of combustion exhaust gas internal energy and/or conduction of heat through engine support hardware via a first heat exchanger device. The cooling subsystem of said CCHP system is a vapor compression refrigeration (VCR) cycle. The waste heat from the VCR cycle is transferred from the working fluid of the VCR cycle to the working fluid of the Rankine cycle via convection through a second heat exchanger device.

摘要： A refrigerant-based thermal energy management system is provided, including an external unit outside of a controlled region that exchanges heat with an outside area. The external unit includes a compressor, a gas-phase valve array, and a manifold assembly with multiple ports affording dynamic selection of connection to either the compressor suction or output. The external unit includes a liquid-phase manifold with multiple ports and a complete internal refrigerant cycle loop composed of the compressor, a condenser and an evaporator. At least one service device is thermally coupled with the external unit. A 2-pipe bus allows each service device to be independently connected to one gas-phase manifold port and one liquid- phase manifold port, allowing the service devices to be independently connected in parallel with either the external unit condenser or the external unit evaporator. The direction and rate of refrigerant flow is independently controlled for each service device.
