    • A liquid fuel dispenser (10) having a vapor recovery pump (32) mounted within the dispenser on a wall (33) to protect the vapor recovery pump from weather damage and intentional or accidental mischief. The vapor recovery pump (32) having a bulkhead (52) attached thereto with a vapor recovery passage and a fuel supplying passage being positioned thereon (54). Both passages extending from an outlet in the bulkhead to their respective pump or motor chambers in said vapor recovery pump. The outlet being in fluid communication with a coaxial fuel hose (24). The bulkhead having a standoff section, in which the outlet is positioned, being substantially axially aligned with an outlet of the motor chamber. The standoff section mounts on the wall of the dispenser. A coupling boss is positioned on the standoff section for abutting the wall.

    • An improved packaging device designed for the filling of flexible, tubular casing (24) and for the sealing of the casing in discreet lengths which may then be further processed or packaged. The device includes a mounting assembly (10) having a floor mounted frame (30) with a rotatable platform (16) supported by the frame. Adjacent the frame and platform is a device (20) for feeding product through a product horn (22) into casing which is shirred on the horn. The platform includes a plurality of specially designed clippers (12) arranged in a circular array. A s filled casing is discharged from the feeding mechanism it is directed tangentially into the circular array of rotating clippers which are equally spaced from each other. The clippers sequentially operate to gather the casing, apply spaced, double clips to the casing, sever the connection between adjacent clips, and to then discharge the packaged link from the device.

    • A motor/pump unit for pumping vapor in response to a flow of liquid, and particularly useful in systems (10) for dispensing fuel to a vehicle (PV) wherein vapor given off by the fuel is to be returned from the filling port (FP) of the vehicle back to the fuel dispensing apparatus to avoid atmospheric contamination. One inventive embodiment, with available conventional fuel dispenser pressure and flow rate, allows abnormally small motor and pump chambers and motor/pump rotor assembly size and abnormally high rotor assembly rotation rate and abnormally quick rotor acceleration to operating speed with sufficient vapor pumping capability. The resulting abnormally small motor/pump enables same to be easily adapted to a variety of existing dispensing pump and hose configurations. Under another embodiment, structure is provided for maximizing fuel flow rate and minimizing pressure drop across the motor/pump unit while providing adequate vapor pumping rate. Under another embodiment, structure is manually adjustable for varying the vapor pumping capacity of the motor/pump, for example to accommodate seasonal changes in fuel composition.

    • An apparatus for packing fowl which includes first (12) and second (14) workstations. The first workstation is provided to receive the product to be packaged. A pusher mechanism (18) pushes the product from the first station between spaced plates (30, 32) into a plastic bag and then through the gates of a clipper mechanism. Advancement is slightly retarded by means of a blocking mechanism (34) to thereby insure that the product is tightly retained within the flexible plastic bag. The bag and product are thereby moved to the second station at which time a holding bar preliminary closes the bag. Thence, gates close and gather the neck of the bag and a metal clip is advanced by means of a punch in a clip channel defined by the closed gates. The clip is thereby fastened about the neck of the closed plastic bag and the excess tail of the bag is cut by means of a knife. Trap doors then release the packaged product onto a conveyor belt, a new bag is positioned on the spaced, guide plates, and the apparatus is ready to recycle.

    • An improved stuffing horn and casing brake combination (12) in a stuffing machine comprises a stuffing horn defining a second horn portion (126) with second-horn-portion outer dimensions reduced in comparison to the first-horn-portion dimensions of a first horn portion (124).
