摘要： A user equipment (UE) conducting machine-type communication (MTC) attempts to blindly decode a message it received using a pre-arranged and finite set of transport formats; and sends on an uplink radio resource feedback about the message, wherein the feedback is based on a result of the blind decoding. Each transport format of the pre-arranged set comprises a unique combination of modulation and coding scheme, physical resource block set;, and number of transmit repetitions. Prior to the message the pre-arranged set may be indicated to the UE in wireless signaling, or it may be specified in a radio standard. The set may be designated for downlink messages and a second set designated for uplink messages. Various embodiments are described for the uplink radio resource on which the feedback is sent, and conventional HARQ feedback is adapted for MTC in these teachings.

摘要： A process, apparatus, and computer program product for enhancing coverage enhancement for network node signals targeted to machine type communication (MTC) devices such as automated wireless meters for water, electric and gas usage measurement. Two enhanced master information block (MIB) formats are defined. A first format contains all critical system information for common user equipment (UE) while the second format contains the critical system information plus the system information specific to MTC users. The second format provides sufficient system information necessary for MTC user equipment to initialize random access channel procedure. UE determines the eMIB format based on the detected primary synchronization signal/secondary synchronization signal (PSS/SSS) scheme and decodes the eMIB accordingly.

摘要： Methods, apparatus and computer program products provide channel state information (CS1) measurement and reporting for a segment carrier in certain situations. An apparatus such as a base station may determine whether CSI is needed for a channel of a segment carrier comprising a segment portion and a contiguous bandwidth extension of a backward compatible carrier utilized by a base station for wireless communications with a mobile terminal. In response to determining that CSI is needed, the apparatus configures the mobile terminal to communicate channel state information from the mobile terminal to the base station. In other embodiments, an apparatus such as a mobile terminal is configured to receive configuration data indicating whether CSI is to be measured by the mobile terminal, and measuring the CSI and communicating the CSI to the base station in response to the configuration data.
