    • A system is provided for adjusting power provided over a channel to a device. The system can include power sourcing equipment and a sub-system. The power sourcing equipment can provide power to a powered device via a channel (302). The sub-system can determine an amount by which to increase the power based on a resistance of the channel (306). The power sourcing equipment or the powered device can adjust the power (or load) in response to a command from the sub-system. The sub-system can include at least one measurement device and a processor. The measurement device can measure an output voltage of the power sourcing equipment, an input voltage of the powered device, and a current on the channel (304). The processor can determine the resistance of the channel based on the output voltage, the input voltage, and the current (306). The processor can output a command specifying an increase or decrease in the level of power supplied by the power sourcing equipment.

    • The sensor network 30 may include a location capture processing unit 38; and a plurality of sensors 10, 14, 32a - 32I in communication with the location capture processing unit 38. The controller 306 of each of the plurality of sensors 32a - 32I is further configured to determine a position of its respective sensor 32a - 32I using either RF receiver 100 or localization engine 300 or both. The plurality of sensors 32a - 32I communicates their position to the location capture processing unit 38.

    • A method of monitoring an element in wireless communication system is provided. An operational noise measurement is obtained by measuring a noise value outside of a bandwidth (304) of a first device, but within a bandwidth (302) of a second, subsequent device. The operational noise measurement is alternatively obtained by tuning an input band of the element to shift the input band partially or completely outside of a bandwidth (404) of a first device to create an open band or by suppressing an input of the antenna and measuring noise within the open bandwidth of the element of the wireless communication network. A stored parameter is retrieved and compared to the measured operational noise. Alternatively, a leakage signal of the element may be received at a signal receiver and compared to a reference. The reference is a function of components of the wireless communication system in a leakage path of the leakage signal.

    • Systems and methods for developing a configuration plan for communication transport links of a distributed antenna system are provided. The distributed antenna system includes a unit communicating with remote antenna units over the communication transport links. The unit receives signals from base stations. Characteristics of each of the signals are determined. The characteristics include, for each signal, a frequency occupancy, a digital bandwidth, and a coverage zone to which to provide the signal. The frequency occupancy includes the minimum frequency component and the maximum frequency component of the signal. The digital bandwidth is a bandwidth for communicating the signal via the communication transport links. A hardware capability of the distributed antenna system, such as a respective available bandwidth for each communication transport link, is also determined. The configuration plan for transporting the digital representations of the signals is determined based on the hardware capability and the characteristics of the signals.

    • An apparatus for repeating signals includes a receive antenna 52, 102 for receiving input signals, processing circuitry 62, 106 for processing the input signals to form repeated signals 56, and a transmit antenna 52, 54, 104 for transmitting the repeated signals 56. A digital signal processor 76 is coupled to the adaptive digital filter 72, 128 for digitally adapting the filter. The digital signal processor 76 utilizes the frequency shift of the transmission signals to adapt the adaptive digital filter 72, 128.
