    • A multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) film having a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer for bonding glass substrates and at least a second opposing layer, the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer being a polymerization reaction product of a precursor comprising a monomer or a partially prepolymerized monomer, in particular a (meth)acrylate based monomer, having a curable ethylenically unsaturated group, whereas the precursor further comprises an oligomeric organofunctional silane having at least 2 Si atoms, in particular 2 to 10 Si atoms, • wherein the monomer having a curable ethylenically unsaturated further has a coupling group with a Zerewitinow-active H-atom and wherein the oligomeric organofunctional silane has at least one coupling group which is reactive to the coupling group of the monomer having a curable ethylenically unsaturated group, or • wherein the oligomeric organofunctional silane has at least one coupling group with a Zerewitinow-active H-atom and wherein the monomer having a curable ethylenically unstaurated further has a coupling group which is reactive to the coupling group of the oligomeric organofunctional silane; • with the proviso that if the monomer having a curable ethylenically unsaturated group further has a coupling group with a Zerewitinow-active H-atom which is selected to be -OH, then the coupling group of the oligomeric organofunctional silane which is reactive to the coupling group of the monomer having a curable ethylene group cannot be selected to be an amino group.

    • The invention relates to a continuous self-metered process of forming a multilayer film comprising at least two superimposed polymer layers comprising the steps of: (i) providing a substrate (5); (ii) providing two or more coating knives (2, 3, 4) which are offset, independently from each other, from said substrate (5) and/or from an adjacent coating knife to form at least one substrate gap (9) relative to the surface of the substrate (5) and at least one outlet gap (10) relative to the surface of an adjacent coating knife; (iii) moving the substrate (5) relative to the coating knives (2, 3, 4) in a downstream direction (6), (iv) providing curable liquid precursors of the polymers (I, II, III) to the upstream side of the coating knives (2, 3, 4) thereby coating the two or more precursors (I, II, III) through the respective gaps (9, 10) as superimposed layers (12, 13, 14) onto the substrate (5); (v) optionally providing one or more solid films (1 1) and applying these essentially simultaneously with the formation of the adjacent lower polymer layer, and (vi) curing the precursor of the multilayer film thus obtained; wherein a lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) is covered by an adjacent upper layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) or a film (1 1), respectively, essentially without exposing said lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III).

    • The present invention relates to a method of making a self-stick foam adhesive, comprising a. a crosslinked (meth)acrylate polymer comprising repeating units derivable from a monomer composition comprising iv. 55 to 97.4 wt. % of one or more alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, the alkyl groups of which comprise from 4 to 14 carbon atoms v. 2.5 to 40 wt. % of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising a nitrogen- or oxygen containing heterocyclic ring vi. 0.1 to 5 wt. % of one or more polar comonomers b. 1 to 60 parts by weight of one or more hydrogenated resin tackifier per 100 parts by weight of the cross-linked (meth)acrylate polymer and c. 1 to 20 parts by weight microspheres per 100 parts by weight of the cross-linked (meth)acrylate polymer, the method comprising polymerizing monomer components of the monomer composition and wherein at least part of the polymerization is carried in the presence of crosslinking agent, the total amount of crosslinking agent used in the polymerization being between 0.01 and 2 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the monomer composition, 1 to 60 parts of one or more hydrogenated resin tackifier per 100 parts by weight of the monomer composition and 1 to 20 parts microspheres per 100 parts of the monomer composition and wherein the polymerization is initiated by radiation substantially in the absence of solvent. The present invention also relates to a self-stick foam adhesive obtainable by such method.
