    • A method for imaging pneumoconiosis or pulmonary function by in-vivo magnetism distribution measurement in which dust accumulated in the lungs or trace magnetic ultrafine powder aspirated into the lungs is magnetized by producing a magnetic field by means of an external magnetic field generator, the magnetic field is then eliminated, the magnetism distribution in the breast is measured from external by using a measuring instrument having magnetic sensors (2), the data collected by the measurement is processed by a computer, and an image is displayed, thereby imaging the distribution of dust or magnetic ultrafine powder accumulated in the lungs. The imaging is performed with high sensitivity in a short time, and the variation with time of the distribution of dust can be grasped. Not only the dust in the lungs but the function such as the activity of the liver cells after a trace amount of magnetic ultrafine powder is aspirated can be observed. An apparatus is also disclosed.
