摘要： A gaming environment comprising a gaming table and a number of optical scanners capable of scanning and decoding machine-readable symbols carried by wagers that are placed approximately within a wagering on the gaming table. The optical scanners operate over specific ranges to capture the reflective light from the wager while excluding reflective light from other objects that are not intended to be scanned. The optical scanners may be located in a chip tray near the dealer, in the gaming table, or in a dealer's podium adjacent to a gaming table. Periodic scans of the wagers can produce measurements and information relevant to security, real-time accounting, and providing a basis for automatically allocating player benefits.

The laminated cover includes a fabric sheet (22) and a backing member (24) adhered together. The laminated cover can be shaped to correspond to the shape of the gaming table. The fabric side of the laminated cover is printed to add features (26) that are typically found on casino gaming tables such as betting circles or numbered squares. The features can be registered with respect to either the shape of the laminated cover or some other reference datum. In either aspect, the features on the cover will be consistently located with respect to the gaming table after each successive placement of the cover on the table.

The system can inform a daler of the value, or status based on value, of the hand. The system can determine whether cards forming a hand of cards are authenticate by validating the cards based on the read identifier. The system can determine if the cards forming the hand of cards are in an expected sequence based on a knowledge of the initial sequence of cards in a deck.

摘要： The present discussion generally describes separable playing cards that can be reassembled, methods of separating and reassembling the playing cards, and methods of using the playing cards in a gaming environment. The playing cards are combined from constituent components, which are a face and a back. The face can have a suit marking, a rank marking, or both. The combination of any given face and back represents a pairing. This pairing can be changed or reconfigured by separating the face from the back and reordering at least the faces or the backs. The reordered faces and backs can be assembled back into respective playing cards and used in a subsequent card game. The reordering can be done manually, mechanically, or computationally generated. The playing cards can include unique identifiers that can be read by a machine and used to verify that a sufficient number of the original pairings have been altered.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a gaming chip with a machine-readable symbol encoding a unique identifier for use in a casino environment and methods for producing the same. The present invention prints symbols and human-readable symbols onto a substrate where at least the symbol is machine-readable. The portions of the substrate having the printed symbols, human-readable symbols, or both can be formed into three-dimensional chip members such that the printed surfaces remain on the interior region of the chip member and readable from a region exterior to the gaming chip by a scanner or optical device. The chip members can be integrally formed into a gaming chip through the injection of filler material between the chip members. The injection molding process structurally and integrally bonds the respective chip members together.
