    • This disclosure relates to a method of preparing a list of entity data, each entity data associated with an entity of a list of entities, for display in a dynamic information pane on a plurality of webpages of a website during a user browsing session and computer readable code, computers and systems adapted for displaying the list of entity data in the dynamic information pane. The first step of the method involves querying one or more log databases for a list of logs, each log being created by one of the entities when the entity performs an activity from a group of activities and comprising an entity identifier indicative of the entity which created the log and a newness data indicative of when the log was created, wherein the list of logs is selected from the logs in the log database as a function of the newness data. The second step involves ordering, for display in the dynamic information pane, the entity data associated with the entities identified by the entity identifier of each of the logs in the list of logs in an order corresponding to the newness data thus preparing the list of entity data. The third step involves repeating the first to second steps. This is beneficial as the list of entity data for display in the dynamic information pane is prepared in chronological order and is continually refreshed automatically to provide an always updated list of entity data.

    • An automatic water heating and distilling apparatus (160) is provided having a hot water reservoir (162), an evaporator tank (172), a condenser (184), a distilled water reservoir (186) and a control mechanism (198, 200, 202). Water is boiled within the evaporator tank generating steam which is condensed in the condenser to form distilled water. The heat rejected during condensation is transferred into the hot water reservoir (162). The distilled water reservoir (186) has an input coupled to the condenser, an output (190) for distilled water, and an overflow (208) so that excess distilled water is returned to the evaporator tank. The control mechanism automatically regulates the operation of a heater (176) within the evaporator to maintain the water in the hot water reservoir within a selected operating range. Various alternative embodiments are also disclosed including a hot water heating apparatus (100) utilizing an enclosed heat transfer device (110) partially filled with liquid having a boiling point above the selected temperature for the water to be heated. A heat transfer device (110) is provided with a reservoir portion (112) for accumulating liquid and a relatively higher condensive portion (114) in cooperation with the hot water reservoir (102). A heater (116), a temperature sensor (120), and a control mechanism (120, 150, 152) are likewise provided to automatically maintain the water in the hot water reservoir within a selected temperature range.

    • An instrument display method and system for use in a passenger vehicle has a number of advantageous features including particularly novel, compact, inexpensive and inherently stable electric motors. A first motor includes a rotor assembly having a shaft and a cylindrical magnet which is positioned about a stator assembly to rotate thereabout. The shaft extends through a stator of the stator assembly, a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD), and an indicia bearing layer. A mask such as a needle pointer is secured to the shaft of the rotor assembly at the indicia bearing layer to convey the value of instrument data to the passenger. A light emitting panel receives light from the VFD and transmits the light to other positions along the display system where other substantially identical electric motors move their needle pointers to likewise convey additional data to the passenger. The first motor is surface mounted directly on the back of the VFD which has electrical conductors formed therein. The other motors are mounted so that their shafts extend through the optical sheet and the indicia bearing layer. In one embodiment, a light beam projecting mechanism projects light beams modified by the various needle pointers to a reflective surface which, in turn, reflects the modified light beams toward the passenger. In another embodiment, the projecting mechanism includes a combiner which projects the modified light beams into the passenger's field of view.
