摘要： In accordance with one aspect of disclosure, an inserter tool is provided for an elongate intervertebral implant. The inserter tool includes a body and a distal end portion of the body configured to be connected to the elongate intervertebral implant to orient the elongate intervertebral implant so that a longitudinal axis thereof extends in a predetermined direction. The inserter tool includes an offset member extending from the body. The offset member has an impact surface support portion spaced apart from the body and configured to position an impact surface in alignment with the implant longitudinal axis to permit the impact surface to receive an impact force directed in the predetermined direction.

摘要： A bone plate system for securing a plurality of bones is provided including a plate member, a locking device of the bone plate, and a surgical cable having a trailing end for being connected to the bone plate and a leading end for being advanced around the bones and into the locking device. The surgical cable may be tensioned to approximate the bones, urge the bones together, and seat the bone plate against the bones. The locking device may be reconfigured to a locked configuration to fix the bone plate to the surgical cable. The bone plate further includes a plurality of throughbores for receiving bone anchors that rigidly fix the bone plate to the bones. The bone plate system utilizes the tensile strength of the surgical cable and the rigid fixation between the bone anchors and the bone plate to resist relative movement of the bones.

Implant devices of the present invention include an implant body formed of a synthetic bone substitute material, such as a nanocrystalline calcium phosphate material. 摘要： A method and apparatus make a size measurement within an intervertebral space by placing an expandable and contractable device into the intervertebral space, expanding the device, measuring a size characteristic of the space, contracting the device and then removing it. Preferably, a holder is held by a physician with an obround-shaped device being inserted into the space and then turned by a steering mechanism prior to the device expansion. The device is small enough to be passed through an incision in the disc annulus prior to turning and after contraction. The measurement may be accomplished by an external x-ray or other imaging device imaging the expanded device in situ or by mechanically operated devices. An expansion and contraction mechanism such as fluid containing bladder or mechanically shifted members expands the device which later contracts in a controlled manner to the contracted size.

摘要： In one aspect, a bone plate system is provided that includes a bone plate body having a throughbore and a bone screw. The bone plate system includes a slider slidably connected to the bone plate body to slide between a clearance position wherein the slider permits a bone screw head portion to be advanced into the throughbore and seated against the bone plate body and an interference position wherein the slider inhibits bone screw back out from the throughbore. The bone plate system includes a resilient pin and the slider has a surface configured to deflect the resilient pin as the bone screw head portion shifts the slider from the interference position toward the clearance position. The deflected resilient pin urges the slider from the clearance position toward the interference position upon the bone anchor head portion seating against the bone plate body in the throughbore.

摘要： In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, an apparatus for securing bone portions is provided that includes a surgical cable having a plurality of elongate elements and a connector. The connector includes a body and a deformable sleeve associated with the body and having a through opening for receiving the surgical cable. The through opening of the surgical cable has a non-deformed configuration sized to compress the elements of the surgical cable together with the surgical cable extending in the sleeve through opening. An actuator is connected to the body and is operable to deform the sleeve and further compress the compressed elements of the surgical cable therein to secure the surgical cable relative to the body.
