    • A way to evacute all moisture and air and then pressurize with SF6 gas (7), a cable and conduit (6) system used for electrical power distribution and transmission lines, by fabricating a termination at each end with a hole (9) slightly larger than the conductor (6) and providing a seal around the hole to the conduit. For a single phase cable, one electrical terminal (17) is sealed as it goes through the first end plate (8) and is connected to the neutral conductor (5). A second electrical terminal (23) is sealed as it goes through a second end plate (19) and is connected to the conductor (1). An enlarged conduit (32) is spaced between these two end plates (8 and 19) and is sealed to the two end plates. A tire valve (12) is installed in one end plate. A hole (36) to fit a pipe nipple is made at the top of the enlarged conduit (32) of one termination. A vacuum pump is connected to a pipe nipple screwed into the hole (36) and the termination evacuated. SF6 gas (7) is then let through the tire valve (12) until a pressure of 1 psig is reached, then shut off. The vacuum pump and nipple (20)are removed, then a patch (37) is sealed over the hole (36). SF6 gas (7) is now let to pressurize at 20-80 psig. Various numbers, sizes and kinds of conductors can be used in a conduit to make various kinds of high voltage power cables.

    • A variable rate controlled delivery drive mechanism includes a drive mechanism housing, at least partially within which initially resides a biasing member positioned in an initially energized state within an inner cavity of a piston. The drive mechanism may include a gear drive having one or more screws and one or more corresponding nuts. The piston contacts a plunger seal and is configured to axially translate the plunger seal, by force asserted upon it from the biasing member, from a first position to a second position within a drug container for drug delivery. The biasing member is metered from free expansion from its energized state by the gear drive and a gear assembly mechanism having a motor. A drug delivery pump utilizes such variable rate controlled delivery mechanisms. A status reader configured to recognize one or more corresponding status triggers is utilized to provide feedback to a user.
