摘要： A bag filling machine capable of densifying particulate material in the bag being filled is herein disclosed. The bag filling machine comprises a shroud (20), spout (50), plug (32) and a bag filling tube (30) that is inserted in a bag (B) so as to seal the bottom end of the bag filling tube against the bottom of the bag. Particulate material is introduced into the bag filling tube (30), which is then sealed by the plug (32) and has a vacuum drawn therein to remove air from the particulate material. Air is then rapidly introduced into the sealed bag filling tube (30) from an air tube (36) to compact the particulate material. The bag filling tube (30) is then withdrawn from the bag leaving the compacted particulate material in the bag.

摘要： The present invention relates to filters used to remove debris from water being sucked into a piping system. It has particular application use in nuclear power plants, which, after a loss of coolant accident, must pump cooling water back into the reactor core from a collection sump. This water may contain various types of debris that must be removed before the water is sent back into the reactor cooling system. There are restrictions on the allowable pressure drop across the strainer and the space available for installing this equipment. The finned strainer of the present invention addresses these issues while maximizing the quantity of debris filtered from the water.

摘要： The invention provides a material for use in a wound dressing or wound implant, the material comprising a plurality of beads, wherein each bead comprises a porous core of a first bioabsorbable material and a substantially non-porous layer of a second bioabsorbable material around the core. The porous core is preferably a sponge formed by freeze-drying a liquid suspension of the first bioabsorbable material. The preferred diameter of the beads is 0.1-4.0 mm, and the beads are preferably dispersed in a liquid or solid matrix.
