摘要： A flexible bag assembly having at least one layer of a flexible material that permits a UV light source to penetrate through to sterilize bacterial contents on an interior of the flexible bag assembly. Transmission of the UV light source is maximized through the flexible material and to enhance a kill rate of bacteria within the interior of the flexible bag assembly. A bio-assimilator may be integrated into a composition of the flexible bag assembly to facilitate biodegradation by anaerobic degradation leaving no microplastic remnants.

The expandable nipple is attached to the first end of the container and the valve is attached to a second end of the container. A counteracting bias force is generated within the container and a first fluid is drawn in through the valve by extending the expandable nipple. When the expandable nipple is released, the expandable nipple is biased back to an unextended state, and an increase in pressure created by the counteracting bias force induces a second fluid to flow out of an outlet in the expandable nipple.

A locking arm is pivotably coupled to the expandable width barrier at the first end and slidably coupled to the expandable width barrier at the second end. The locking arm may be an adjustable-length construction. The pivoting of the locking arm causes the barrier to move between locked and unlocked states. When the locking arm is pivoted to lock the barrier, it causes the barrier to linearly expand a supplemental amount and fits the barrier to opposing sides of a passageway opening.

摘要： Systems and methods for facilitating hygienic storage and disposal of waste packages such as used disposable diapers include a housing, a lid, and a bag unit having a bag frame and an attached single use flexible bag. The flexible bag is pleated and larger in cross-section at a lower portion than it is at the connection to the bag frame. The bag frame is releasably mounted to the housing so that it will not rotate. The lower portion of the flexible bag is positioned in a storage chamber of the housing that is shaped so as to align and center the bag. A rotatable member having radially extending flexible fingers is engaged with an intermediate portion of the bag. When the lid is closed, the rotatable member will twist the intermediate portion of the bag, sealing odors in the lower portion of the bag. A parent or caregiver will push the waste package through the resistance of the twisted intermediate portion into the lower portion of the bag, and close the lid to re-seal the twisted portion.

The waste receptacle includes a container housing, a lid assembly and at least one UV illumination source disposed in the lid assembly or container housing for sterilizing an internal compartment of the container housing. The waste receptacle may include at least one sensor, for example disposed in the lid assembly and/or the container housing, for ensuring the safe operation of the UV illumination source. The at least one sensor prevents the UV illumination source from operating unless the waste receptacle is completely sealed in order to prevent UV light from exiting the receptacle during use and to protect a user or bystander from exposure to potentially harmful UV light.
