    • The invention relates to a child safety gate which occupies as little space as possible when the gate is open. The child safety gate comprises two or more panels (1, 2, 3, 4) interconnected by at least one hinge (5). The panels are mounted in the opening via at least one fitting (10) connected with an end panel (3) at one side. At least one closure device (12, 13) is connected with an end panel (4) at the other side. The hinges (5) may be connected with the panels (1, 2, 3, 4), so that the panels may be folded in- wardly over each other when the gate is opened. A panel top (8) and/or a panel base (9) may be connected with the panels. The panels (1, 2, 3, 4) may comprise two panel parts which may be telescoped. An extension panel may be disposed between the panel parts.

    • A barricade system comprises a barrier assembly, a floor assembly, a floor locking assembly, and a manipulating assembly configured for engagement with the floor locking assembly. The barrier assembly is collapsible and defines an enclosure when erected. The floor assembly is configured for location within the enclosure and removal from the enclosure. The barrier assembly supports the floor assembly. The floor locking assembly is operable between a locked condition in which the floor assembly is locked to the barrier assembly and an unlocked condition in which the floor assembly can be removed from the enclosure. The manipulating assembly engages with the floor locking assembly to operate the floor locking assembly to unlock the floor assembly. The manipulating assembly and floor locking assembly being configured so that engagement of the manipulating assembly with the floor locking assembly is substantially limited to a condition in which the barrier assembly is erected.

    • A security barrier system for controlling boat access to a protected area includes a barrier having an opening through it for boat passage. The barrier may be a fixed structure such as an earthen berm, or may be a floating barrier. A pair of spaced-apart support members, fixed in the waterbottom, are on either side of the opening. A gate is connected to one of the support members and spans the opening. A remotely operable latch means locks the gate closed, preventing passage. In one embodiment, a boat remotely unlocks the gate and pushes the gate open, then flex members return the gate to a closed and locked position. In another embodiment, particularly for locations with significant water level changes, the gate moves vertically on floats in response to water level, and a remotely operable system both unlocks/locks the gate and moves it between closed and open po sitions.

    • There is provided a barrier and a method of opening and closing a barrier. The barrier comprising a first arm moveable about a first support, a second arm moveable about a second support and at least one coupling. The first and second supports are spaced across an opening and the barrier is arranged between an open and closed position, such that in the closed position, the arms are arranged in combination to traverse the opening. The barrier is further arranged in a locked position, such that the coupling is slidably coupled to the first and second arms. The barrier improves the safety of loading bay areas in order to allow the efficient transfer of goods on freight transportation vehicles.
