摘要： The invention relates to a light source (1) comprising a light generat¬ ing unit (2) like an organic light emitting diode and an outcoupling de¬ vice (3) for coupling light out of the light generating unit in an outcou¬ pling direction (4). The outcoupling device comprises a first region (5) for facing the light generating unit, a second region (7) having a re¬ fractive index being smaller than the refractive index of the first re¬ gion, and a structured intermediate region (6) between the first re¬ gion and the second region. The first region is optically homogenous and has a thickness in the outcoupling direction being larger than a coherence length of the light, thereby reducing generally possible wavelength dependent interference effects and, thus, a corresponding degradation of the outcoupling efficiency. The outcoupling efficiency can therefore be increased.

摘要： The present invention relates to a light emitting device comprising several groups of stripe shaped organic light emitting diodes (15, 16, 17) arranged side by side on an optically transparent carrier substrate (4). The organic light emitting diodes (15, 16, 17) comprise a first layer sequence (2) forming a first microcavity. At least one of the organic light emitting diodes (15, 16, 17) of each group comprises a second layer sequence (3) forming a second microcavity between the second electrode layer (5) and the carrier substrate (4). The second microcavity is adapted in thickness of at least one of its layers to increase light out put of the corresponding organic light emitting diode (15, 16, 17). A scatter or diffuser element (14) is arranged in an emission direction of the organic light emitting diodes (15, 16, 17) in front of the carrier substrate (4), to mix the light of said different colors of each group leaving the carrier substrate. The present device allows the emission of white light with a high efficacy.

摘要： A thin-film bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonator, such as SBAR or FBAR, for use in RF selectivity filters operating at frequencies of the order of 1 GHz. The BAW resonator comprises a piezoelectric layer (14) having first and second surfaces on opposing sides, a first electrode (16) extending over the first surface, and a second electrode (12) extending over the second surface, the extent of the area of overlap (R1 ) of the first and second electrodes determining the region of excitation of the fundamental thickness extensional (TE) mode of the resonator. The insertion loss to the resonator is reduced by providing a dielectric material (18) in the same layer as the first electrode (16) and surrounding that electrode. The material constituting the dielectric material (18) has a different mass, typically between 5% and 15 %, from the material comprising the first electrode (16) it surrounds. The mass of the dielectric material (18) can be lower or higher than the mass of the first electrode (16). Planarisation of the dielectric material (18) enhances the performance of the device.
