    • The present invention relates to a method for discovering an orthologous gene, and more specifically, to an orthologous gene identification method, which comprises: classifying two genes according to molecular biological functions and biological processes by using gene ontology; preparing a gene ontology tree to analyze the gene classification pattern; and identifying an orthologous gene if the number of common interconnects is greater than that between ordinary genes yet the sequence is similar. The method of the present invention can be easily used for the analysis of gene function, and using an orthologous gene, the study of gene function of a species whose gene function is relatively easy to analyze can be applied to the analysis of gene function of a species, such as humans, which is difficult to study. Therefore, the method of the present invention is useful for the prevention or treatment of human diseases or the development of new drugs.

    • The present invention relates to a method for analyzing modified polypeptide sequence and modified information thereof. More precisely, the invention relates to a method for identifying modified peptide in which fragment ion signals are obtained from target peptide precursor by using tandem mass spectrometry, candidate peptides and every possible peptide fragmentation patterns thereof are designed based on the mass data thereby, match scores corresponding to each fragmentation pattern of candidate peptides are given, and then by combining each matching scores derived from possible fragmentation patterns of a candidate peptide, modified target polypeptide is identified by tandem mass data based on the provided match score. The scoring method for modified polypeptide of the present invention can greatly contribute to increasing searching efficiency of modified peptides and reliability of the searching results by integrating all scored values obtained from different fragmentation patterns of a candidate peptide.

    • The present invention relates to a method for reconstructing protein database for identifying a protein and a method for screening a protein using the same, more precisely a method for reconstructing protein database comprising the steps of i) Grouping proteins having a required homology by using the clustering software from the primary database which minimizes the overlapping of proteins and then recording sequence information of each protein group on a recording system of a computer; and ii) Designating a representative protein in each protein group and then constructing the representative protein database composed of the representative proteins, followed by recording the results containing sequence information on a recording system of a computer, and a method for identifying a protein using the same. The method for reconstructing protein database and the method for identifying the protein of the invention are very useful for the investigation of endogenous proteins and their functions and interactions, and are further effectively used for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic agents for various diseases.
