    • The invention relates to an additive for hydraulically setting systems based on modified polycarboxylates and water-soluble ethers of high polymeric polysaccharides, optionally containing further standard additives, characterized by a content of a) a water-soluble ether of cellulose or a cellulose-like compound with a viscosity of at least approximately 1,000 mPas, particularly at least approximately 2,000 mPas, measured as a 2% aqueous solution with a Brookfield viscosimeter at 20°C and 20 rpm and b) a polycarboxylate, whose main chain is linked by means of ester, ether, imide and/or amide groups with polyethylene oxide-containing side chains. The invention also relates to hydraulic mixtures having a content of the above additive and the use thereof. Using the additive according to the invention in hydraulically setting systems comparable and in part much better characteristics are obtained compared with casein-containing formulations, such as a rheological flow behaviour comparable to casein, but with improved water retention.

    • The present invention provides a process to prepare a powdery additive suitable for improving adhesion of building material compositions to substrates having a surface energy of 50 mJ/m 2 or lower, measured according to DIN 5660-2:2011-12, the additive comprising a polysaccharide and a plasticizer, wherein the plasticizer is liquid at 50°C or lower, has a boiling point of 100°C or higher and is selected from a specific group,comprising the steps of a) admixing the plasticizer to an aqueous medium of the polysaccharide followed by the subsequent drying of the admixture, or b) preparing a first particle comprising the plasticizer by (i) adsorbing the plasticizer onto a carrier, or by emulsifying the plasticizer with a synthetic water-soluble polymer in water and subsequently drying the emulsion, and (ii) mixing this first particle with a second particle comprising the polysaccharide wherein the mean particle size of the coarser of the first and second particle is not more than 10 times the mean particle size of the finer particle, or agglomerating the first and second particles into one particle. The invention further provides the additive obtainable by this process, use of the additive and building material compositions containing the additive as well as a process to adhere such compositions to substrates having a surface energy of 50 mJ/m 2 or lower.

    • The invention relates to an adhesive composition which is in one embodiment a free flowing, water-redispersible powder adhesive, comprising about 30 to 99.9 wt.-% of at least one water-insoluble, film-forming polymer and/ or at least one water-soluble polymer in powder form, about 0.1 to 35 wt-% of at least one polyalkylene polyamine with a molecular weight of between about 300 and 10'000'000 and up to about 35 wt- % of at least one water-soluble salt. In another embodiment, the adhesive composition is a water-based adhesive composition, comprising, based on the solids content of the adhesive about 30 to 99.4 wt.-%, of at least one aqueous dispersion of a water- insoluble, film-forming polymer and at least one water-soluble polymer, wherein the weight ratio of the water-insoluble to the water-soluble polymer is from about 0.001 : 1 to 100 : 1, about 0.1 to 35 wt.-%, of at least one polyalkylene polyamine with a molecular weight of between about 300 and 10'000'000, and about 0.5 to 35 wt.-% of at least one water-soluble salt, whereas the solids content of the water-based adhesive composition is between about 5 and 70 wt.-%. The processes to manufacture the same and the uses are described as well. The inventive adhesive composition is cost effective and provides excellent adhesion, in particular to difficult to bond substrates.
