摘要： A method includes providing a water sample for analysis at a well site, or at a location proximate the well site, where the water sample is collected from at least one water source and the water sample comprises at least one analyte. The water sample and a reagent are introduced into a microfluidic mixing cell to produce a mixture of the reagent and water sample, and the mixture has a detectable characteristic indicative of concentration of the at least one analyate in the water sample. The detectable characteristic is measured by spectrophotometry to determine concentration of the at least one analyte. Then a subterranean formation treatment fluid is prepared using water from the at least one water source based on the concentration of the at least one analyte. The introducing into the microfluidic mixing cell and the measuring by spectrophotometry are conducted over an elapsed time period of about 5 minutes or less.

The apparatus comprises a mixing chamber having inlets for the liquid (22) and the fluid (24) at or towards one end and an outlet (28) for a mixture of the liquid and the fluid at or towards an opposite end. An elongate flow pathway (14) which is generally zig-zag in shape, when seen in longitudinal section, extends between the inlets and the outlet. The generally zig-zag pattern provides a sharp change in direction of the pathway along its length thereby generating a cross-flow of the liquid and the fluid down the pathway to enhance mixing of the first liquid and the fluid before being discharged from the chamber.

According to said method, at least two dosed partial streams (25, 26) are brought into contact in such a way that they are subjected to a thorough mixing induced by turbulence. In said process, the partial streams have a flow rate ranging between 0.1 and 500 ml/h and the mixed stream has a combined flow rate ranging between 1 ml/h and 500 ml/h. During the turbulent mixing process particles are created with a size of between 0.1 and 5000 nm. The invention also relates to a method for the in-situ formulation of a medicament suspension, whereby the medicament suspension is administered continuously by means of a line.
