摘要： An apparatus and methods are provided for a portable battery pack for recharging an onboard vehicle battery for extending driving range. The portable battery pack comprises a case that includes a base joined to a lid by way of hinges. A battery array is housed within the base, and electrical terminals are mounted onto the lid. A charging cable may be connected to the electrical terminals and plugged into a charge port of the vehicle. The battery array comprises a multiplicity of battery cells that may be coupled in parallel, in series, or a combination thereof. A battery management system is coupled with the battery array and configured to ensure that the battery array operates safely. The electrical terminals may be coupled with an external power inverter, or a power inverted may be housed within the case and incorporated into the power battery pack.

A conduit within an interior cavity of the air filter is disposed between the first opening and the second opening, facilitating tightening and loosening the clamp by extending an appropriate tool through the interior cavity so as to engage the screw mechanism of the clamp.

A second portion of the filter medium is coupled to the first portion and maintains a uniform distribution of the pleats with the first portion.

摘要： A sound attenuating engine exhaust system and methods are provided for directing exhaust gases away from an internal combustion engine of a vehicle and attenuating undesirable exhaust sounds during engine operation. The sound attenuating engine exhaust system comprises an exhaust inlet configured to receive exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine. A first resonator coupled with the exhaust inlet is configured to dampen at least one frequency of exhaust sound waves by way of destructive wave interference. The first resonator includes an exhaust outlet for directing the exhaust gases out of the first resonator. A second resonator is coupled with the first resonator and configured to dampen one or more frequencies of exhaust sound waves by way of a combination of destructive wave interference and Helmholtz resonance. Hangers facilitate attaching the sound attenuating engine exhaust system to an undercarriage of the vehicle.

摘要： A turbo-boost controlled intake system is disclosed that provides a driver of a vehicle with greater control over vehicle performance. The turbo-boost controlled intake system includes a control module that is coupled with an aircharger air intake. The control module instructs an electronic control unit of the vehicle to increase manifold pressure to a higher level before releasing the pressure through a waste gate so as to provide a greater power output of the engine. The turbo-boost controlled intake system further includes a wiring harness and a signal adjuster. The wiring harness couples the control module with a turbo inlet pressure sensor, a manifold absolute pressure sensor, and an electronic control unit of the vehicle. The signal adjuster includes a rheostat that enables manual adjustment of the power output of the engine.

The air filter comprises a V-bank filter element for removing contaminants from an airstream flowing through a HVAC system. The V-bank filter element includes filter panels that are angled with respect to one another to form adjacent V-configurations such that front edges of adjacent filter panels are placed in contact and rear edges of adjacent filter panels similarly placed in contact. A top member and a bottom member receive top and bottom edges of the filter panels for supporting the V-configurations. A frame couples with the top member and the bottom member and orients the V-bank filter element within the HVAC system such that the airstream is directed through the V-bank filter element. Openings are disposed in the frame for allowing the airstream to enter the V-bank filter element.

摘要： An apparatus and a method are provided for a modular intercooler block that may be fabricated by way of direct metal printing and assembled to form larger intercoolers. The modular intercooler block comprises cooling fins that are spaced between first and second core headers to allow passage of an airstream. Countersunk holes are arranged on the first and second core headers and configured to receive grommets when the first or second core header is fastened to another core header comprising similarly arranged countersunk holes. A core tube extends along an undulating path from each countersunk hole in the first core header, through the multiplicity of cooling fins, to a similar countersunk hole in the second core header. The core tubes may include thin copper walls and spiraled inner passages to enhance heat transfer to the airstream passing through the multiplicity of cooling fins.
