摘要： When the engine is operated under a light-load condition, a gas mixture is stratified with a high average air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber (5). NOx produced in this case is absorbed in an NOx absorbent (26) provided in the exhaust passage. The average air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber (5) is lowered so as to release NOx from the NOx absorbent (26) in such a way that the air-fuel ratio of the mixture around the ignition plug (10) does not vary greatly. This enables the average air-fuel ration A/F to be switched from a high level to a low level and enable the NOx to be released from the NOx absorbent without causing the gas mixture around the ignition plug to become excessively rich, preventing misfire and change in the output torque of the engine.

摘要： A fine porous amphoteric particle which can adsorb acids and bases having, respectively, an acidity and a basicity stronger than those of the acidic and basic groups of the particle itself, has an average diameter of 50 mu m or less, and is useful as a deodorant and so forth. The particle comprises a basic polysaccharide and a polymer of an organic acid having a reactive vinyl group or a salt thereof, and is produced by emulsifying or suspending an aqueous solution of a basic polysaccharide and an organic acid having a reactive vinyl group in a hydrophobic solvent followed by polymerization. It is useful as a cosmetic. A deodorant is prepared which contains fine chitosan particles having an average diameter of 0.01 - 50 mu m, especially fine chitosan particles having an available amino content of 1.0x10 - 1.0x10 mol/g and a specific surface area of 10 - 300 m /g. A useful oil component of the deodorant is a polysiloxane having long-chain alkyl groups and a melting point of 20 DEG C or above.
