摘要： The present invention relates to compositions and methods for tissue regeneration, particularly for treating skin lesions such as wounds. In one aspect, the invention provides a wound healing composition comprising living cells such as fibroblasts within a support matrix such as fibrin, in which the cells have a wound healing phenotype, and in which the composition is single layered and has been incubated for up to about 8 days to allow development of the wound healing phenotype. The compositions and methods of the invention are useful especially for assisting the process of wound healing, particularly chronic open lesions that are slow to heal or resistant to healing.

In particular, a method for modulating the tensile strength and/or elastic strength of a composition comprising living cells suspended in a 3-D support matrix, which method includes the step of subjecting the composition to ultrasound stimulation, characterised in that the ultrasound stimulation comprises alternating periods of exposure to ultrasound followed by rest periods, in a continuous cycle over a period of at least 21 days in which the duration of each period of exposure is about 1 s to 10 min, for example about 5 min or 2 min, preferably about 10 s, and in which the duration of each rest period is about 1 s to 30 min, for example about 15 min or 10 min, preferably 180 s, and in which the ultrasound stimulation has a pulse frequency of about 250 kHz to 50 MHz, for example about 500 kHz to 20 MHz, preferably 1 MHz.

摘要： The present invention relates to compositions and methods for tissue regeneration, particularly for treating skin lesions such as wounds. In one aspect, the invention provides wound healing composition characterised by the higher expression levels of phenotypic marker genes such as apolipoprotein D, matrix metalloprotease (2), collagen 3al and smooth muscle actin than the housekeeping gene ribosomal protein L32. The compositions and methods of the invention are useful especially for assisting the process of wound healing, particularly chronic open lesions that are slow to heal or resistant to healing.

摘要： A wound dressing applicator (10) for applying hydrocolloid dressings, compositions for tissue regeneration and the like to a patient's skin. Known wound dressing applicators do not effectively protect against contamination of the wound dressing and/or can be fiddly and difficult to operate and be rendered unusable by unwanted premature separation of the various layers of material adhered to one another. The present applicator comprises a rigid body (20) having a rigid body enclosure (30) for receiving a wound dressing, and an ejector (40) for ejecting the wound dressing from the rigid body enclosure and onto a patient's wound. This enables effective and aseptic handling of a wound dressing and application of the wound dressing onto a patient's wound.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for the repair of subcutaneous or dermal tissue in a subject, comprising in one aspect the injection of a suspension of allogeneic dermal fibroblasts into the subject. By injecting a suspension of allogeneic cells, the invention provides, for example, long-term augmentation of the subadjacent tissue without the disadvantages that accompany the preparation and/or use of presently available materials such as autologous fibroblasts cells or collagen. According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a method for the augmentation of subcutaneous or dermal tissue in a subject, which method comprises the steps of: (i) providing a suspension of allogeneic dermal fibroblasts; and (ii) injecting an effective volume of the suspension into tissue subadjacent to the subcutaneous or dermal tissue so that the tissue is augmented. The method is preferably cosmetic.
