An elongate panel for mounting on a wall has a first surface for facing away from the wall and an opposed second surface for facing said wall. A pair of longitudinally extending conduits connected to the second surface and for carrying heating fluid are designed so that the panel is slim. Adjacent panels are interconnected by ported connectors that are retained in the conduits by retaining clips. A connector guide is inserted into each bore before insertion of the connectors to prevent them from fouling on burrs at the conduit ends. The guide has a body that at least partially covers said end and has an aperture that corresponds to the bore. The body may have a chamfer defined around the aperture.

摘要： A valve lock for locking a valve spindle in a selected position corresponding to the valve being for example fully open or fully closed. The lock has a housing (1) which is mounted on the valve body and a hub (2) which engages and rotates with the valve spindle (10) relative to the housing. A latch (15, 16) is provided between the housing and the hub, the latch being actuatable by a key (7, 9) to assume a latched condition in which rotation of the hub relative to the housing is permitted in one direction but prevented in the other direction. A spindle position indicator (4, 5) is coupled by a transmission (3) to the hub so as to be displaced as a result of rotation of the spindle, thereby to indicate the spindle position relative to the valve body. The spindle position indicator prevents actuation of the latch by the key except when the spindle is in the selected position as represented by the spindle position indicator. The spindle position indicator is locked in the pre-determined orientation corresponding to the selected spindle position when the latch has been actuated by the key. The transmission incorporates a slip clutch which enables rotation of the hub in the one direction if the spindle position indicator is locked in the pre-determined orientation and sufficient torque is applied to the spindle engaging member to cause the clutch to slip. As a result the selected position can be reset simply by locking the spindle position indicator and then rotating the hub to a reset position.

摘要： An improved process for producing ethylenically unsaturated zwitterionic phosphate ester compounds involves a two-step reaction, in the first of which an ethylenically unsaturated compound including a hydroxyl group is reacted with a halophospholane compound to form an intermediate which is subsequently ring opened in a second step using a trialkylamine to produce a zwitterionic product. The solvents used for the first and second steps are different to one another and the first solvent is removed from the product mixture of the first stage using a thin film evaporator with the intermediate being dissolved directly into the second solvent, thereby minimising side reactions. The product has improved purity compared to that made by known processes, which makes it particularly suitable for use in polymers, especially cross-linked hydrogel copolymers, used in ophthalmic applications.

摘要： The invention relates to a system for training medical practitioners in the use of medical devices. A practitioner, unfamiliar to a new device, is allowed to practice with the device in a simulated clinical environment on a manikin (4). The system then compares the way in which the practitioner uses the device to a pre-defined standard by measuring responses made by sensors (2) embedded in the manikin and comparing them to certain allowable combinations of ranges of values. If the sensors (2) make their responses within certain permitted ranges, the use meets the standard and the practitioner is certified as being qualified to use the device. The practitioner is then monitored when using the device on a real patient (3). The system compares the way in which the practitioner uses the device to a predefined standard by measuring responses made by patient sensors (1) and comparing them to certain allowable combinations of ranges of values. If the monitored use meets the standard set by the system, the practitioner is deemed competent to practice on real patients.
